So what is The Frugivore Diet?

the frugivore diet is a fruit-based diet that best suits the human frugivores physiological requirements. this includes a living foods diet of mostly sweet and non-sweet fruits, leafy greens, some vegetables, nuts, seeds. if you would like to learn more about a humans basic anatomy in comparison to other frugivores and non-frugivorous animals then check out this comparative anatomy chart i revised. you can click on the picture for better quality.

here is a simple infographic i put together many years ago that still applies today. i would just replace pasta with yams when it comes to optimal back up food.

  • Day 14 completed here. Day 15, the half way mark starting.

I am not going to share what I ate as I have pretty much eating the same thing each day. Instead I'm going to ask advice as I'm not so sure that my body is too happy.

Other than a few detox symptoms at the start I've traveled fairly well. I've had lots of energy with huge improvements in my mood (more balanced and postive) and sleep (much deeper). On the negative I'm producing rashes on my skin (also a postive I know it is detox!), I'm way bloated, I have no sediment in my urine (so no kidney filtration hence the rashes trying to get stuff out through the skin and why I've put it as a negative). I'm not used to eating this many calories. I way under eat usually.  For the first week my weight stayed stable (I'm a little overweight to start with). In the second week I am going up roughy a kilogram each day. I'm not feeling comfortable in my body and the extra weight is impeding my movement.

Unless someone advises otherwise I plan to make changes. My body is craving orange juice. I've been having a meal a day of that. I plan to move to all juice with orange juice as a base for each meal adding different juiced fruits in to get a bit of variety. This will allow me to achieve the calories each day but being all juice should hopefully be a bit easier on the digestion. I plan to try this for a few days and see how it goes.
    Any advice welcomed 😀

    • Hey Lisa-Jane I think that a lot of people can get tripped up on trying to eat way too much.  I have tried raw a few times in the past but could just not eat the amount that others said I should.  I just don't need that much fuel to run on. I see myself as a tiny fuel efficient car.  If I jam too much food in I too get bloated, feel terrible and my body rebels.  So I just eat small meals, maybe a 1 banana smoothie with coconut water for breakfast and if later in the morning I am feeling hungry then maybe another small smoothie.  I eat small meals throughout the day, which allows my body to digest the food more easily.  I stopped worrying that I wasn't eating enough of x and moved to a more intuitive type of eating this time around and I seem to be reaping the benefits. I just listen and respect my body's signals.  If you have gone through the initial detox of craving salt, caffeine and fat etc and your body is now telling you to drink juice, drink juice.  I gave up a long time ago trying to tell my body what and when  to eat and instead just started listening to my internal signals.  If my body is craving something wholesome like juice, I know that's not an addiction I am trying to overcome, if my body is craving salt, or bread etc, then I know I am still in a state of detox.   So drink the juice, don't worry about packing in so much food and the bloating should calm down.  Graze during the day and eat small raw food portions if hungry and hopefully your overwhelmed system will start to rebalance itself over the next few days.  Hope this helps.

      • Thanks Bella. I appreciate your thoughts and encouragement 😊

    • Fiber! Eat an orange instead of a juice. Or have fiber with the juice - some whole fruit. Sugar with zero fiber isn't great. That's what I would try anyway

  • I am crazy obsessed with datorade. It is my breakfast everyday now and I make at least 36 oz. if not more at a time to sip on for awhile. My favorite part is getting to the bottom and enjoy the little bits of gooey date that settled! I have been using coconut water with it and I am in 😍.  For lunch I ate a huge romaine salad with blueberries and homemade mustard dressing. Organic blueberries were on sale at the store, so they will make a lovely dinner along with bananas!

  • Day 13 was a large very sweet honeydew melon, Strawberries and bananas. 3 types of  fruit, but I ate loads of strawberries and about 12 bananas over the course of the day. It was a delicious day 😋

  • Day 13 food:

    - 1 watermelon for breakfast

    - then a weird snacking all over the place lunch of katuk, cherimoya, pitahaya, mangoes, granadilla,

    - then for dinner a big salad with mango sauce, plus a little hot sauce and coconut yoghurt (raw homemade but not by me), with machete beans on the side

    - second dinner of a bowl of mango soup

    - evening snacks: a really bad papaya I took 1 bite of and threw out (it tasted of nothing), handful of dates, coconut water

  • Day 13

Breakfast: Smoothie 8 bananas, 8 dates, 2 cups mango, 2 stalks celery.

Lunch: Attempted to eat 4 big mangos. Only could eat half.

Dinner: Tried to finish other half of mangos. Followed by romaine, cucumber, tomato, half avocado with tahini dressing.

    Cronometer: 2630

  • Day 13

Breakfast - banana passion fruit smoothie

Lunch - berry and banana nicecream

Dinner - orange and pineapple juice

2,719 kcals 😳 Think I ate too much today 😬 To think when I started I struggled to eat this much and now I have to learn to hold back 😂

    • I'd smash that!! Haha :'D

I eat that many calories every single day...I don't think it's too much :D You're doing awesome <3
