Just wondering with all this extra green talk... I have a few questions... Can you please answer them all

* How do you eat your greens? Do you eat them mono everyday?

* How much greens do you eat daily? Do you always eat them daily?

* How long have you been 100% low fat raw vegan?

  • I eat my greens in a smoothie with bananas and celery.
    I take one pound per day. I take them every day.
    I have been intentionally low fat for about 10 weeks and unintentionally low fat prior to that.
    I am sticking to mild greens and some spinach right now because I have increased my intake and want to get used to the larger amount. I hope to add wild dandelion greens shortly.
    I have 4 or 5 bowel movements daily but am not convinced that they are or should be odourless.
    I never crave anything but think that I would not feel satisfied if I did not have greens daily.
    I have not had salt for years and had some curry powder in flax crackers about 4 months ago.
    I aim for 1800 calories per day and mostly succeed.
  • 1) either mono (after fruit) or blended (w fruit or veggies), I don't like salads. tried the juicing thing for a while, whole greens works better imo.
    2) usually 1-1.5 lbs on avg., sometimes don't have any for days, sometimes more.. last weekend I had 4.5 lbs on sunday
    3) over 12 months
    4) changes, right now I like romaine, baby swiss chard, baby russian kale, celery
    5) hmm dunno
    6) I often do crave greens yes
    7) honestly can't remember, green onions in september? seaweed last june?

    Green smoothie: 1/2 lb spinach and 6-8 bananas in the a.m.
    HUGE salad (about 3 heads of romaine at nite (last meal of the day) with tomatoes..lemon juice.

    I don't always have them daily, but I do aim for it.

    Vegan- 9 years. LFRV- few months, but I was LFRV for 6 months last year. and then on and off.... Here to stay now.

    Favorite green is Kale...but it doesn't love me as much as I love it unless juiced. Spinach is.

    * Do you have odourless bowel movements everyday?
    Odorless bowel movements....yes yes yes. Quick and easy too. I feel a difference when I don't get enough water.

    Yes

    Few months ago.

    mono or salad. sometimes i like to wrap bananas and dates in romaine or put dates in celery (if that counts as a green)

    * How much greens do you eat daily? Do you always eat them daily? I used to eat about 1lb+ without fail (on my longest stint of 811, too), now I usually just eat whatever size salad I am craving or whatever I have time for. I rarely go a day without greens.

    * How long have you been 100% low fat raw vegan? Two weeks, but I was doing a lot of greens on my two month stint (I had a couple of months of occasional cooked food eating due to wisdom teeth extractions and craving savory foods like crazy.. and i couldn't chew greens)

    * What is your favourite green and why?
    Celery, romaine, iceburg.. they are yummy. spinach sometimes.

    * Do you have odourless bowel movements everyday?
    Yes.. I've never seen an increase of odor with greens. seems odd.

    Yes

    over two weeks ago, when i last had cooked food.

    * How many calories a day do you eat?
    I don't count anymore, but I get enough. My stomach is amply stretched and I always have fuel.

    * How much greens do you eat daily? Do you always eat them daily? No. Freelee's post made me feel better about this. I've been having a hard time getting my greens because I'm not craving them nor do I care greatly for them. Feel better that I'm not crazy for not eating them daily.

    * How long have you been 100% low fat raw vegan? Raw last 2 months. Working on 99% lfrv the past two weeks.

    * What is your favourite green and why?
    Celery or green lettuce. Easy to shear. I find celery slightly salty which sometimes cuts the sweetness of fruit if needed.

    Yes. Defecate many times a day. All odorless.

    No

    * When did you last have salt, excito-toxins, spices?
    Last week.

    2100ish. Working on increasing.

    I eat them at least once a day, sometimes 2 or even 3 times a day though. I guess it depends on what all you consider "Greens".

    6 months

    * What is your favourite green and why?

    Lettuce!!! I like it because it's not sweet (like fruits) and it's not bitter either (like a lot of vegetables) I mainly like it for the jaw exercise that I get from it. I spend about an hour a day just chewing on lettuce or sometimes celery.

    I stay away from things like Broccoli because they just don't taste very good to me.

    * Do you have odourless bowel movements everyday?

    Yes, and I'm 100% convinced that all I would have to do is start eating some "Flax Crackers" every once in a while for this to completely change.

    * Do you "crave" greens?

    Well, sometimes if I have spent several days eating a lot of dates or bananas I will start to crave something that isn't so sweet, and since greens aren't sweet they are perfect for me on those occasions, however, I don't think that I really experience "cravings" for greens. I buy a lot of greens when I go shopping, but the main reason that I buy them in such large amounts is because I feel that they're healthy and that it's "the right thing to do".

    * When did you last have salt, excito-toxins, spices?

    I was still consuming "Seaweed" and even "Cacao" up until sometime last summer, so it has been about 8 months now I believe.

    * How many calories a day do you eat?

    4,000 or more.

    I'm just curious on your profile you say you have dietary practices that don't fit in with 811, what are they exactly?

    2) 3 bunches of celery (6 cups juice)
    3) 3 months
    4) celery, salty flavor
    5) after 28 days on whole blended pineapple and celery juice i am still pooping out some nasty smelling stuff, can't imagine where the body stores this crap...

    I eat them in banana smoothies almost daily, and I eat them after my navel oranges at dinner almost daily. If by mono you mean just greens and nothing else, then I never eat them mono.

    I don't measure. I stuff as much as I can into my 640z banana smoothie when I am having smoothies. When I am having them with dinner, it depends on how much room I have left. I am guessing that I average somewhere around half a pound to a pound a day.

    About 7 months.

    Toss up between spinach and romaine.

    Pretty much. I'll catch a whiff of something every now and then.. :-)

    I don't think i crave them, but I do find that there are times when I enjoy them more than other times.

    There was accidentally a little salt in the guacamole I ordered at a restaurant on Sunday, and I had a little bit of it before I returned it and made them remake it. Before that it was January when I went to a gourmet raw food restaurant and had a little and was shocked by how sensitive I was to it. Not sure about excitos and spices... There may have been some in that gourmet raw lunch I had..

    * How many calories a day do you eat?

    I don't count. I wish I had the discipline to. I can guess a little bit because bananas are the major part of my diet, so I guess somewhere around 2500 to 3000 and maybe sometimes up to 3500.
