I read Haitian mango farmers are really struggling to import their fruit and make ends meet.  I have been going through hell trying to find these mangoes anywhere which are apparently available through August and starting again in November.  Does anyone know where I can get these or any decent mangoes for that matter?  I live in Northwest CT.   In all the stores the only mangoes available have been the standard round ones which are generally hard as a rock and never ripen properly.

Anyone else as fired up as me about underripe fruit and the lack of quality mangoes?

  • NYC. There are piles of them (including the Haitian ones and my favorite ataulfo) all over the fruit stands on the street. Selling for $1 each and lately ripe and ready to eat.
