Article Says Low Fat Is Bad

Hello all,

I've been transitioning to RT4 for about 2 years now and finally went full in in october of 2015. Lost nearly 25 pounds since. But I read an article stating low fat diets lead to low vitamin intake of vitamin A D K, and lead to depression. What a bunch of hog wash. This lifestyle has been seen to cure depression!

What's you're guys' take on it?

  • Another great source of vitamin D is in mushrooms that have been exposed to UV light.

Fungi and animals share a common ancestor, and one common trait we both retained is that we produce massive amounts of Vit D when exposed to sunlight (UV specifically). It's almost absurd how much mushrooms can produce.
    • I knew mushrooms could produce some vit. D but I always heard it was in very low quantities, I'm really surprised by this article ! :-O

Still better to get it directly from the sun, but it also makes me think that I'll try to dry more of my mushrooms (we had a incredible millesime this year for porcinis !) in the sun next time instead of using a dehydrator !

PS: wondering if frozen mushrooms could also produce vit. D once unfrozen ? :-p

  • As for depression, I myself have clinically been diagnosed along with other 'mental health issues' and 100% manage myself incredibly well by living the RT4 lifestyle.

Fruit is a BIG part of health and so is daily cardio like cycling/brisk walking up the hills.

  • 1. Beta Carotne is found in almost every fresh fruit and veg (beta carotene from which the body can make retinol aka vit A.)

    2. D comes from the sun or supps.

    3. Vitamin K is found in fresh fruits and veg. K2 is made by the body. K2 is also found in Natto which is vegan and the HIGHEST source of K2 foodwise per calorie. Mercola fueled the K2 vegan hype by saying that vegans don't get enough K2 so eat meat AND buy his K2 supplement which is actually made from natto (soy beans) haha!

So people are so stupid that they believe Mercola when he says they need to eat meat AND by his vegan K2 supp! Mercola is such a salesman that he can sell meat eaters why a vegan diet is bad but then also be selling them a vegan supplement that was made for meat eaters!! Even his GF Erin is now vegan and a big fan of RT4.

  • I've had depression for years. A few weeks into being 80/10/10 + RT4, it's gotten 70% better. My bloods are fine too. The media is biased and doesn't tell you the whole picture.

  • I think these articles are not based on 80/10/10. If we are eating all the fruits and veggies we can we won't lack in these vitamins. For our fellow 30BAD'ers the below post from the welcome wagon is great.

Also, Congratulations to you on your weight loss and curing your depression. This lifestyle is definitely amazing.
