Buying BANANAS/DATES in bulk CHICAGO LAND

Hey guys,

So I've never bought anything in bulk yet and I honestly dont even know where to begin. I literally go to jewel (a chain grocery store over here) or another grocery store every day if not twice a day... Does any one have any suggestions on places around here or maybe websites to buy in bulk?

Thank you I love you guys!!!

And Happy Halloween!!!

Muahaha

  • I def buy bulk bananas at Sams club or Petes produce .....(I'm from Chicago) I Bought sunsweet dates buy the bag from either Petes or Walmart but i can't tell you where to buy in bulk to be honest i need help looking for local farmer markets in the Chicago land area

  • I'm in Chicago land too. When I'm super busy I do Peapod grocery delivery and they will sell them by the case (90-100 per case) ! Oh and for dates I go to nutsonline.com they a great selection of bulk/wholesale dates etc:) I just ordered my first case which I'm getting tomorrow- I'm super excited because I keep running out or ripe fruit. I just started my transition a week ago.
  • I get my bananas from Sam's Club in boxes (just ask a floor guy, they can hook you up with a box that hasn't been unloaded yet).

I get my dates online.  What is your experience with dates?  Have you tried many varieties?  Have you tried fresh ones?  I've ordered from a lot of vendors online; they run between $6 to $13 shipped per pound depending on the freshness & quality.  I go through about a pound a day, so it's one of my biggest expenses in this diet.

  • In the USA we have some of the cheapest bananas in the world, so I would  just walk into a store and buy them.

.49 per pound is a great price

In Europe or other countries a pound of bananas can be 3-4$ per pound, ten times as much.

    • Okay, thanks!

Looking stuff up thats kind of what i was thinking...

      But how about DATES?
