Candida. Chronic? Stomach?

Hi everyone.
I've been some time out of the community, but I'm finally back!
I have started a relationship with a non vegan woman, who now its vegetarian. She ve been having some issues with what its called Candida.
After being guided by a hygienist, she has cleaned the body pretty deep. But the process was very painful for her.
This white paste with a very strong odor smell was coming out constantly. She had very strong pain attacks around the belly and the lower back and she had the feeling of hundreds of little beings biting her vagina lips. That was driving her crazy.

From what I understand, candida will immediately disappear as soon as the sugar goes out of the blood stream. Then, we lowered the fat intake quite a lot (she lost some kilograms) but this situation didn't change
She did also stopped eating cheese, eggs and fish (she adopted a vegan diet for some time). This paste and the pains didn't go away.
This was happening for about 6 months.
She was taking some cold showers and trying not to mix much the food she was eating.

So, one day she just couldn't push more and decided to go to the ordinary doctor, who told her that everything was right. Maybe it was a stomach issue.
But she gave us a pill.

So, against my belief, I took the pill too.
And good, everything went normal. No bad odor, no biting and no white smelly paste.

Is it all about diet?
The nervousness in the stomach is making it worse? Or its the only cause?
Heavy metals?

Thank you for your sharing.
Love, light and fruits!
