I had a dog who loved loved loved any produce. He would steal sweet potatoes. He once ate 20 tomatoes off the kitchen table. We would find him in the livingroom making quick work of a cauliflower. The best was that every year he would stand next to the tomato plants before the tomatoes grew and just whimper. He would literally beg the plant for tomatoes.
I miss that dog so bad.
I forgot to mention that my boyfriend had a german shepherd who would knock whole watermelons off the counter in order to crack them open and then devour the entire fruit.
they're technically classified as carnivores. of course that doesn't mean they can't eat other things. ime, my dogs like fruit & will eat it but it often gives them gas, especially if given near their meat meal.
