Desperate for Dressings!

Hey everyone, I love salads with tons of veggies, but I have not found a good low fat raw vegan dressing that I like. I used to do creamy asian dressings, or balsamic vinegar. I'm not really digging just lemon juice and I've tried blending up peppers and celery and spices but I can't find a good tasting combo! Recipes or ideas??

  • Blend together mango and red pepper to create a dressing that tastes like french dressing :)

  • Try dates blended with mustard seed for a honey mustard dressing! So yum!

  • 1 part Tahini, 2 parts water, mixed up in a cup =delish. I'll do about a tablespoon of Tahini per head of lettuce. Got the idea from Megan Elizabeth on Youtube:)

  • I just made this dressing:
    9 organic sundried tomatoes
    1/2 shallot
    2 cloves garlic
    Splash o raw apple cider vin or lemon juice
    Pinch sea salt (could leave this out)
    Pinch oregano
    1 c water

    You do need a high speed blender like a vitamix - blend till smooth!
  • I remembered that you mentioned Asian Dressings the other day when I read your post. Someone on the forum posted an Asian Dressing that I have not tried yet but I know it will be great...and so simple. I love that part! Could be great on salad or pasta or pasta salad.

    Spicy Ginger Citrus Sauce

    2 in. of ginger root ( minced)

    2 tb. of sugar in the raw

    One cup of raw tahini

    One lemon and one lime (juiced)

    Add water as needed


    whisk together, serve raw or heated

    • Yes! This is what I eat on my salads, I like to add a tiny bit of pure sesame oil too, but it is still great without. So delicious. It's also good on homemade fries! 

  • I recently tried blending one ripe mango, 3 pitted medjoul dates, a splash of water, and a dash of coconut sugar.

  • I blend together until smooth:

    -1 cup (loosely packed) dates

    -the juice of one orange

    -1 cup (or a bit more) water

    The orange and date combo makes it delicious!

    (Even though I think ginger is not recommended on this lifestyle, you can add a small piece of ginger to give the dressing a kick)
