detox symptoms - dandruff?

Im 3months into my fruity adventure here, and I just went on a all-inclusive kinda holiday in turkey, where the food-supply was amazing !! - they had the largest fruit buffet Ive ever seen, and their medjoul dates were off the rocks !!                however in the evening they didn't have fruit in large quantities, therefore I would eat from their cooked vegan section, so i kinda feel like I've had to start all over since i got back a week ago.

- my rice and bread-cravings have been intense, so Ive had to add 1000K's to my daily caloric intake, in order to stay away from these items.

- some detox symptoms have come back to me: break out in my face, a little bit of water weight and inability to focus from time to time

- ONE NEW THING is: dandruff ! (so weird)

I only wash my hair app. once a week, since it doesn't really get greasy any longer. so it's not that I'm overdoing the shampoo or drying out my scalp, but yesterday after my bath, I noticed an immense amount of dandruff in my hair. Ive never had this problem before, and I haven't heard of this as listed as a detox symptom before, have you ??

  • that's so nice to hear. I am happy that more fruit, once again, is the answer :)

  • hi zsa ! wow it has been so long I barely remember. but I did go no-poo sortly after, and I dont remember having any dandruff issues while not shampooing my hair. so that was probably what helped me overcome the dandruff issue. also, I continued to 'up' my calorie intake, which might have helped me heal from candida issues faster than if I hadnt been eating more (idk really, but maybe) :) hope this helped

  • Dandruff is a sign of candida problems.  If you've taken antibiotics in the past you may want to take probiotics until you get a healthy amount of good gut bacteria.

    • nice. I think I will try that. thanks

  • thanks for the tip ! its slowly subsiding already, but i'd love to be able to rid myself from the poo-addiction :) thanks again !

  • I'm wondering about this too. I hope if it is just detox we can get through it without too much worry.
I'm thinking of trying avocado in my hair next time I wash it. At least I wont eat it then! (i have a habit of eating too much avo)
I also want to try coconut oil, but I need to get my hands on some first.
I'll let you know how I go :)
    • haha, I like your comment about the avocado (I used to be an addict as well) yes, please let me know how it goes! I was about to put almond oil on my scalp yesterday, which is what I use for my face and body, but Idk how to do it w/o making my hair too greasy, cause I really want to keep hair wash on the low.

thank for your help janna, I truly appreciate it!

      • Alison Andrews has an interesting post on her site about going "No poo", including using blended cucumber and lemon for hair wash. :)

I just use water to wash myself, and sometimes I might use some sodium for my hair.
