Does Mark Sisson take HGH?

I dont know about HGH but he says he takes testosterone. Mark Sisson says he takes Testosterone in this article.

I get a few emails about Mark Sisson. People ask me how come his body changes so much. He looks like a runner in one shot and a bodybuilder in the other. I find that interesting as well. I do know that Mark takes and sells a LOT of supplements.  On his blog he says he takes around 10 000% of the daily RDA for b12 in the form of his methylcobalamin supplement pills (primal defense he labels them). I know b12 is taken in supp form to aid with muscle mass in bodybuilder circles. Mark takes a lot of whey protein powder too (cos you cant get enough protein as a vegan so you need to eat meat AND buy Mark Sissons whey protein powders ;)

Here are some of the photos people have sent me that raise suspicion. Hey, just cos a 58 year old male does human growth hormone to market books to fat people telling em to stop doing cardio, stay away from fruit and eat bacon 6 times a day doesnt make em a bad person. Or does it?  My question is how on earth does someone change body shape so quickly. From marathoner looking to bodybuilder looking? Ive showed these photos to friends of mine that take PED's and 2 of em said 'hey, can you get me his contacts?' lol!

  • HGH? Kinda doubt it; why's it matter anyway? Testosterone + "30 years of hardcore training" sounds more like it. Like was said, the pics aren't even good comparisons for various reasons, and it's not like he looks abnormally muscular or something. I'd say close to Doug Graham if he was flexing/pumped considering Doug doesn't even do weights?
    • Harley, I'm all for your 'tough love approach', and while you may be right, I agree that the pics are not good comparisons. Setting an argument that way only encourages others to criticize veganism/fruitarianism/811/whatever in the same fashion. I'm not concerned with anyone's negative comments for my own sake- it's more of a matter of if we really care to help people cut through the crap of all these debates that are overcrowded with shaky or generalized supporting evidence (i.e. it's very easy to manipulate one's body image in photos with no special effects... just angles, distances, posture, body positions...).

    It does!

Processed meats such as bacon should not be recommended to human consumption by any standards.

This guys has been spewing such a amount of carbage that I would not mind seeing a video of him done by you. Kind a like you did on Vitalis and Croxton. Does a "paleo" promoter (outside the few in the academia) who is not selling supplements actually even exist?

  • I hear you chris. I mean we went to Cost Co the other day and all the big people had boxes of fruit in their carts vs big bags of cadavers.

  • IMO, we can't really compare the pics.  One's got a shirt on, the other does not.   The top pic could be after a pumping up weight workout.
    • I hear you but look at the obvious biomarkers here. Mark Sisson's wrist to bicep ratio in both photos is pretty startling.
