This low fat vegan whipped cream recipe turned out way better than I could have imagined. It fluffed up really nicely and doesn't use coconut cream, it uses aquafaba, which is much lower in fat. I ate it with some raw banana ice cream!

Check out how to make it:

https://therawbuzz.com/raw-recipes-2/fluffy-vegan-aquafaba-whipped-cream-recipe/

So, I have eaten and loved bananas all my life however having started to transition to this lifestyle I have had some issues with them - i presume due to the quantity. I have experienced a lot of bloating and gas and I am pretty sure that it's the bananas as every time I eat them I can literally hear my stomach start to churn.

I am transitioning from a high fat vegan diet and have been following a high carb low fat vegan diet now for over two weeks and the symptoms haven't eased.. I thought at first it was dates but I cut them out and churning and gas has persisted.

I really want to go properly raw till 4 but wanted to ease into it, but now I am concerned to do it.

FYI I am a healthy, active 21 year old and not suffering from stress.

At the moment I am eating:

Meal 1: 5-10 bananas for breakfast

M 2: Cooked meal aka rice and veggies

M 3: mono fruit meal

M 4: Salad and fruit

Has anyone else had this kind of problem?

If so let me know!!

Proof: High Carbs Made Me Morbidly Obese!

Warning: Before passing judgment please READ my whole post. Read the whole post before deleting it because it tells the TRUTH!

Today I tipped the scale to 165Kg. I am 190cm in height.

Using the calculator at the National Institutes of Health my Body Mass Index (BMI) is 45.7 - morbid obesity!

Therefore this proves that all the fruit and carbs I have been eating, for a number of years now, have caused me to have morbid obesity!

Please remember I am a REAL world person, with REAL world major health issues. The next time you are talking to an obese person, you should think about me!

To understand how fruit and high carb foods made me Morbidly Obese, it may help you to understand that I started with a BMI of 97.0 (350Kg). Since no BMI chart goes that high I made up my own (BMI >55)...

A BMI of ≥ 19 to 25 is ideal
A BMI of ≥ 25 to 30 is overweight
A BMI of ≥ 30 to 35 is obesity
A BMI of ≥ 35 to 40 is severe obesity
A BMI of ≥ 40 to 50 is morbid obesity
A BMI of ≥ 50 to 55 is super obesity
A BMI of ≥ 55 to 65 is Super duper obesity
A BMI of ≥ 65 to 75 is Don't let me step on your toe obesity
A BMI of ≥ 75 to 85 is Why Hospitals have double doors obesity
A BMI of ≥ 85 to 95 is Sitting on you is not really murder, is it?
A BMI of ≥ 95 to 100 is Basically Dead! - "Two weeks (or less) to live!"

That last one is what my doctors told me, just before I fired them for failing to meet any of the objectives they were hired for (keep me alive and reasonable healthy!)

A new "health friendly" doctor agreed to order any minimally invasive medically testing I wanted (blood, urine, etc.). Having a high IQ, I went to work to fix things. All of my other doctors had refused to order, or even consider, testing for Celiac Disease, even though others had shown me I had many symptoms. Stool exams (fecal occult blood test) and an elimination diet test proved to my doctor that I both had Celiac Disease, and should not eat Gluten containing food.

However, the Philippines is not America. Eating a Standard Anthropocene Diet (SAD) in the Philippines, that is Gluten Free, was not possible. Even meat here (beef, chicken, some fish), is often injected with a wheat flour mixture (that has gluten in it) to make the meat more tender, and taste better. I decided to eat food just the way God grew it! Or as close to that as possible. (No meat, just fruits / veggies in the public market!) Three days later, my gout had eased enough to allow me to walk 2 meters to the toilet, the start of my exercise. About the same distance from the taxi into the market.

I soon started eating my meals at the local public fruit and veggie market. I became a bit of a celebrity there. Only able to walk a couple steps with a limp, and a strong cane, vendors would bring me their produce. Day one - I asked a vendor to peal and slice a pineapple for me, and then I just ate it. I found out they were ALL willing to prepare the food I bought from them. Dragon fruit, chicos, mangoes, the fruit in rural Philippines is amazing! I also ate some rice and squash and sweet potatoes, all common food here.

One day I noticed some kids actually counting how many of these bananas I was eating. They were so excited when I ate the 100th banana at a single meal! And I had never heard of a "banana island" before! (Nor "Banana I. Lan!")

So I can honestly say that high carbs and literally tons of fruit has taking me from "Basically Dead" to "Morbidly Obese!"

Then 350Kg - NOW 165Kg
Then BMI 97.0 - NOW BMI 45.7
Then Bedridden, could not walk 2 meters - NOW, I can (and do) walk 5Km, or swim 600 meters, and I wish someone would send me a strong bicycle!
Then BP 200/140 (while taking blood pressure pills) - NOW 120/75 and No BP meds!
Then Insulin for Diabetes, 5 injections every day for 30 years, and many pills - NOW No Diabetes meds!
Then daily frightening angina pain and countless pills and ER trips - NOW no pain 11 days after I started and NO angina pills or ER trips!
Then Basically Dead! - NOW I am pleased to announce that Fruit and High Carbs have made me Morbidly Obese!

Full Disclosure: The RAW118 Design Diet I follow is not exactly the same as the 80/10/10, 90/5/5, 811-lfrv, 30BaD or RT4. I invented it myself to meet my needs before I knew the others existed.

RAW118 is a mostly raw (mostly not cooked), to fully raw diet. The R.A.W. part of RAW118 being an acronym of Rich (or fat) foods, Amino foods (dark-green leafy or salad veggies), and Whole foods.

Rich (fat) foods and Amino foods are figured as 10% maximum of the Optimal Metabolic Rate (OMR), which is basically twice the Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), or what a top athlete would be burning. So a top athlete on 30BaD and a top athlete on RAW118 would be eating basically the same thing. Durianrider on RAW118 or on 30BaD would eat basically the same thing.

However, this calculation for a bedridden, "Basically Dead", almost uncontentious person, may be fat <20% of daily calorie needs - and for a housewife with little exercise (just starting out) perhaps 12-17%.

For me, dropping to <20% fat (mostly from coconuts and avocados), in the beginning, (I am about 9-10% now) was HUGE from the other "80/10/10" diet I was on then (80% Fat, 10% Soft-drinks, and 10% [actually more] deserts). (Warning: Do NOT try that diet yourself... Although I ate this everyday, I have not done it for years, and I would not recommend it to anyone that does not want to bulk up to 350Kg and die in fear and pain!)

Just consider my former LUNCH... Two family size double stuffed Pizza Hut deep dish meat lovers pan pizzas, with double extra cheese. Plus a family size tray of meat lasagna. That came with 4-6 liters of soft-drinks and 8 deserts!

That is what I ate, for My Lunch only, anyone else would have to buy extra food for them. Breakfast / lunch / dinner / TV snacks were basically the same except the brand names...

"Hello McDonald's? I want FOUR Big Mac meals, super size everything, and eight apple pies. Oh, you better add eight hot fudge Sundays. Delivered!"

"KFC? Yeah, I want 3 family size buckets, with all the fixings and additional four large gravies. Just give me an assortment of the fixings, but no coleslaw. That comes with 12 brownies right?" "Yes sir." "Better give me an extra 12 brownies."

Anyone who knew me then would tell you that I am not exaggerating at all. It takes work to get to 350Kg!

That was my REAL "Suicide Addition Diet" (SAD - Right?)

PROOF: High Carbs can make some people Morbidly Obese!

I'm so glad it has happened to me!

Lan

Banana I.

What's up vegan gang, my name is Wippe and I'm from Finland. Been vegan now for almost 1.5 years and the diet and the amazingly inspirational people involved (mainly the youtube peeps) have really changed how I view and act in life. The energy, positivity, mindset, motivation, work ethic, confidence, all of them have sky rocketed in my life and I feel so thankful that I found this lifestyle so early in my life. I have gained so much knowledge in just one year and felt so empowered to reach for my goals by just watching bunch of carbed up champs speaking about stuff that I really haven't heard of focused before. And it all made so much sense to me.

So that's pretty much why I'm writing this right now, I have finally grown some balls and started my own youtube channel to maybe start empowering others the same way people have empowered me and also to connect with other like minded people. You never really can't have too many vegan friends.

At the moment it's mostly the regular stuff: vlogs, tips&tricks, foodporn, exercising etc. But I have bunch of bigger ideas floating around my head all the time so I really try to do some fancier stuff in there too! So would love it, if you guys would check it out and at least let me know what you think! And if you got any questions or just want to chat, contact me on youtube, facebook or here and let's talk! ;)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dj5mJPfrUkI

Ohh yeah another shameless plug when we are at it! I do this thing called tricking and it's basically mix of gymnastics/acrobatics and martial arts so if you find flips, kicks and twists interesting go check out our new vegan trickers instagram account! Also lot's of vegan food porn there too ;)

Vegan trickers instagram!

Thanks for those who read thru this and let's keep killin' those old beliefs rather than the animals!

Hi everyone!I need some help! :(It's my mums birthday and we're going out for dinner tonight. Originally we were going to a vegan restaurant because she is vegan also. But offcourse everyone else complained and now we are going to a completely "normal" Italian resturaunt. I called the place to check they at least have SOMETHING that is vegan and gluten free, and they said yes. But I'm also worried about oils (which Italians use heavily) and sodium... What might be my best bet to order?I thought risotto but then realised it's probably dripping in oil :(I'm also more worried than I probably should be because I've been sick again lately with candida- it's stubborn but has almost cleared up since I've started rt4, but as soon as I eat something wrong, I get a rash again and can't go to the toilet :(Ughhhhhhhh :(Thank you everyone!

Hi there!

To give you a bit of my background, I went through a VERY brief period(I'm talking 3 weeks max) of calorie restricting(800 or so a day) about 3 years ago, and then another about a year later, lasting around 2 weeks(nobody can survive on 800 cals a day! Not possible). That was when I was still eating animal products. Roughly a year and a half ago, I became vegan after finding the raw till 4 movement and I began stuffing the fruit in, aiming for 3000 cals a day of fruit + cooked high carb foods like potatoes. After 8 months on that, I felt very stressed, lacked motivation to work out and had gained about 15 pounds of fat. I stopped for 5 months or so and stayed on a normal vegan diet which involved plant protein powders, cooked food, a maximum of 5 servings of fruit a day, about 1800 cals and quite a bit of veg. Ever since going off raw till 4 I've lost the 15 pounds and I'm now at a weight of 62kg and 174cm. I'm now wondering about the 80/10/10 high raw lifestyle, but since I'm a runner, I need to stay light on my feet, and I'm running competitively, so I need a diet that will give me high energy but will not make me feel heavy and gain weight. I do not have the ability to be sitting around at home doing yoga and waiting for my body to do its healing. So as of current, I'm eating 80/10/10 except for a bit of cooked veg and bean soup/rice at the end of the day + my normal salad. I'm eating roughly 2000-2200 calories and doing 1-2 hours of training a day(run, cycle, swim) at a moderate-high intensity. My meals consist of 2 bananas, 2 persimmons and a kiwi for breakfast, 3 dates, 2 apples and a banana in between breakfast and lunch. For lunch, a 3 banana green smoothie, an orange and rice paper veggie rolls(greens and veg inside). After that, I will typically consume another 2 apples/1 mango, as well as a banana or two, then an orange + grapes in my dinner salad. A serving of roasted broccoli and about 300 cals worth of soup and rice for my cooked food. However, I have been lacking energy during my hard runs and I think my performance has been suffering a bit. What adjustments can I make, and how can I prevent that initial weight gain whilst maintaining good energy levels?

The video I watched entailed that in order to clear candida and parasites, either a high fat (die off) diet should be used (not recommended by this person) or a high fruit diet (in order to get sugar into cells, rather than just in the bloodstream). They also mentioned that any starch eaten will just cause to worsening and maintenance of candida, and that you could only decide between the two (high fruit or high fat). Please let me know as I want to clear my body of any parasites and candida, I want to do it high carb so if this means I have to eat just raw high fruit, how long should I do this for and when will I be able to reintroduce starches again?

Hey everyone!

I'm starting this discussion because I feel it is important to share what can happen and WHY if you come to this unlimited calorie/carbohydrate lifestyle after years and years worth of dieting and calorie restriction (aka metabolic damage), like myself! I came to this lifestyle in March 2012 after yo-yo dieting, calorie/carb restricting, fasting, taking stimulants and laxatives, smoking, drinking alcohol, binge/purging, and overexercising since 2006. My health was suffering severely (anorexia symptoms, digestive disorder, hormonal imbalances), so within one year of following this diet and lifestyle my weight went from an anorexic 120 lbs to a slightly overweight 185 lbs (I'm 5'11"), whilst experiencing immediate improvements in my digestion, hormones, sleep, skin, mental state, and overall health. I just published a very detailed blog post all about my experience here: http://www.nutritionbyvictoria.com/blog/why-i-initially-gained-60-lbs-on-a-high-carb-vegan-diet

I hope that you find the blog post helpful for your recovery if you are experiencing weight gain on this diet. Just know that it's NOT permanent! By sticking to the high carb low fat, unlimited calorie diet and lifestyle (sufficient sleep, water, exercise) you will recover the FASTEST, heal the QUICKEST, and experience weight loss EFFORTLESSLY once your body is ready to target the excess weight (after healing is complete). Initially, weight gain is absolutely necessary in order to turn the wheels of the healing cascade. My weight plateaued after the 1st year, and remained within 5-10 lbs of that weight gain after 2 years. After year 2, my weight started to shift downward, permanently. I've now lost a total of 30 lbs since coming to this lifestyle back in March 2012, and I'm experiencing the best health of my life!

Thank you so much for reading and feel free to leave me any comments/questions!

Victoria

2 year progress pic.png

What else can I say to them? Also, they say to me that people living in cold regions in countries can't have a vegan diet because they have to protect themselves with fish mostly (or meat). And that they aren't the same as people who live in warm places. What about this? I think I need to investigate more so I don't turn blank although I always try to make some good explanations. There must be a perfect explanation of these too. If they would try the vegan diet they wouldn't say anything bad about it, being vegan is feeling awesome. Fresh fruits and plant based food plus you get so connected to nature.. Ahh..... They really should try it haha. Thank you for taking your time for reading this. Let's talk!

I have IBS and even eating good vegan food (high carb) it hasn't gone away in 1.5 years. I also have edema even though I regularly exercise.

This affects my stomach, I would like a flatter tummy/smaller waist but I just can't seem to get it. My stomach from the front seems fine, but from the side it comes out farther than I want it to, I know it's not fat because it's not like saggy, it just looks full, like bloat/undigested foods. It's very frustrating.

As for my edema, my legs (thighs) get bloated very quickly. With walking, biking, most exercises actually. It's painful and uncomfortable and it's noticable for sure.

I don't even know how I would look without these problems but I'm sure a lot better, so any help would be great as I've been in a plateau for far too long.

Hey guys,

I've only very recently been introduced to this 80/10/10 concept and, despite it contradicting a lot of what I've been taught about nutrition, it makes sense and I decided to give it a shot. I did a little test run yesterday—I ate only cherries, bananas, and frozen mixed berries. It was going well until my body FLIPPED out and I had a need to eat salty, crunchy, savory things. So I ate a Quorn chick'n cutlet (terrible, I know), tortilla chips, and a few other things. Does anyone know what might have caused this craving, and how to prevent it?

I'm assuming this happens when you don't eat enough calories/carbs. I admit that I've been on a chronically low calorie diet, because I can't afford a lot of produce so I figure not eating at all is better than eating crap. I average 500-1,000 calories per day. The idea of eating more than one piece of fruit at a time is alien to me, let alone 5-10 pieces. So I am going to try one week of full on 80/10/10. I know it is more prudent to integrate the lifestyle slowly, but I want to fix my diet as soon as possible. It's gotten out of hand and I'm sick of it. I transitioned from enthusiastic omnivore to strict vegan overnight, cold turkey, and I managed that quite smoothly. I think I can handle a swift, drastic dietary change. I would just like some advice on how to prevent cravings and other pitfalls as much as possible. I'd also like some advice on how to make sure I meet my caloric needs. For example, which fruits are the most calorie dense that I should be eating plenty of? I don't have tons of money to spend, so I don't want to waste money on fruits that won't fuel me.

Thanks!

Upon reading that I realized she wasn't basing it off science but what she perceived personally to be happening.

The person who replied to me with these seems really absorbed in what she believes so I don't think I can sway her, but jeeze it seems extremely damaging to promote high fat diets.

Then she sent thishttp://www.westonaprice.org/about-the-foundation/healthy-4-life/ I let out a loud OH MY GOD at the mention of "By restricting healthy animal fats in school lunches and diets for pregnant women and growing children, the USDA Guidelines will accelerate the tragic epidemic of learning and behavior disorders. The nutrients found most abundantly in animal fats and organ meats—including choline, cholesterol and arachidonic acid—are critical for the development of the brain and the function of receptors that modulate thinking and behavior."

So wrong. Choline from animal products are so so so so bad, and arachidonic acid causes inflammation...and don't even get me started on cholesterol!

But gosh.

She's a much older woman so hopefully this is popular with the older generations and won't be around forever. Seems incredibly damaging :(...I could show her all the information about why this is so unhealthy but I still think she wouldn't believe it.
