Fruit in the morning ...

In the last days (this is my 20th day of lfrv), I've been feeling really noxious after eating my blended fruit in the morning. It's disgusting, almost like venomed. I feel like that for like 15 minutes and then it's over. At first I thought it was due to the tap water I'm drinking here (new town), but I dont notice anything about it when I drink it in the evening.
Maybe it's due to acid fruits? Today I had 3 apples blended with water and I felt terrible afterwards.
I've also heard of other people having similar problems and therefore "cant" eat fruit in the morning.

Maybe I'm just drinking my smoothies to fast in the morning. Or should I try to eat a few hours later, after waking up?

Has anyone else experienced this?

  • Update:
I've been eating dates or banana smoothies in the morning and the nauseous feeling didnt come back.
    Havent tried unblended apples yet.
Yet I experienced heartburn while running after eating dates for breakfast.
  • I actually get it somtimes with watermelon in the morning, terrible feeling for a little while but the it disepates. I dont know why though.
  • Thanks to everyone for the comments. It's good not know Im not the only one...

I'll try out other breakfast versions and let you know how my body reacts.
I'll start with the non-blended version.
  • What if you eat 3 apples whole, not blended? Nauseous too?
And, could it be that the body is prepared to get a substantial amount of calories to deal with when you start eating, and then it doesn't get much? (3 apples is way too little. Freelee recommends for women to have a breakfast between 600 and 1000cals, but yours hardly has 250.) I feel best with about 8 bananas as breakfast, post-yoga.
Keep us updated how your adjustments work!

  • Lemons, oranges, berries and grapefruits are acid fruits and a poor food combination with bananas and dates. This will cause indigestion. It's best to eat the whole fruit and eat mono meals. Animals don't have stoves and they also don't have blenders or juicers.
  • I feel the same way, so I just drink water with some lemon juice squeezed in and go for a short walk. I become hungry very soon and gulp down just about anything after I'm back home! :D
  • Always listen to your body and make adjustments. It is far smarter than we are. I recently had to modify my morning smoothie because I was improperly combining fruits. Now I eat a few less fruits, but wholly and the problem is gone.
  • Yes!! and I'm still not sure why...I'm sticking with the old fashioned reason that the body is still eliminating and just isn't ready for food yet. If I eat solid food before say about noon I feel lethargic and almost nauseous.

I used to not have anything until around 1:00 but I don't think that is good to do on a regular basis because it overworks the adrenaline glands, so now I drink a couple glasses of water upon rising and then an hour or so later I will juice 32 oz OJ and sip on that until I feel ready for a smoothie.

I would say you should drink a lot of water first thing and then try some OJ or another juice. It is very nice and light and my body loves it in the morning, maybe it would work for you too.
