  • You might want to ask our Peacekeeper Rawbert.  I know he bought a property and was starting to grow his own stuff.

  • I have not watched that John Kohlers thing yet. I grow in a garden myself but I also want to grow my greens indoors in the winter I got the lights and such just have not gotten to doing it yet. I once grew potatos in my basement in the wintertime under lights. That being said you could grow them in tires or containers. Its a higher calorie option. tomatos do well as well. Depening on where your located too tho gotta watch the insects. I've been lucky where I'm at but when I lived in florida the insects would anialate anything i grew.

  • Thanks guys, everybody is so helpful in this community I love it!

  • I would suggest watching John Kohler's GrowingYourGreens youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/growingyourgreens).  I learned everything I know about gardening from him and google.  I recommend watching his videos on compost, rock dust, compost tea, sea minerals, and worm castings.  Also, if your a reader, I'd recommend reading Teaming With Microbes and Teaming with Nutrients by Jeff Lowenfels and Roots Demystified by Robert Kourik.  Good Luck!

Oh and for growing in pots, try to get the widest pots possible because plants really prefer growing their roots laterally.
