Help!

Hi guys! so i'm new to this website but i thought it would be a great way to get some advise. I am currently doing rawtil4 and i'm a student. I do have a past of a eating disorder for about 2 years and I do think i'm still struggling with it. I can't seem to get the whole "right way" of doing rawtil4. By that i mean eating enough fruit during the day and a cooked meal for dinner. I hardly have any fruit during the day, maybe some grapes or a apple and peach. Then i wait until around 5:30 to have a huge cooked meal of more than 2(dry) cups of rice and some steamed or roasted potatoes. I'm really trying to loose a few pounds and get into really good shape but i can't seem to get the layer of what looks like fat on my tummy. It's really frustrating but I really need some advice! thank you:)

  • Definitely need to eat more during the day. If I get into a "mood" of not wanting to eat much for a few days, I definitely notice my body puffing up a bit. If I eat around 3,500 calories I feel much slimmer in the morning. I know at the beginning it is definitely not easy to eat as much as you may need. I struggled to hit 2,500 cals in the beginning, but you just keep at it and eventually you'll have no problem stuffing in the carbs. If you're not already using some tool to track your calories, try cronometer. It is vital to your success in the beginning of this journey. Do you find that you like the fruits you are eating? I used to try to eat every fruit I could find and it didn't take long for me to realize I was eating as much fruit because I didn't like what I had purchased. You should probably also try eating more calorically dense fruit for now while your stomach isn't used to huge amounts of food yet. Bananas and dates are definitely the easiest, and usually pretty cheap depending on where you live.

Lastly, I know this wouldn't be raw till 4, but if you cannot eat fruit during the day for whatever reason eat cooked meals. You can eat cooked carbs all day long if you need to (though I would at least recommend eating all fruit for breakfast if at all possible). What you're doing right now is calorie restricting and that will not help you get to where you want to be. Don't pursue purity too much if it's leading to you being underfed and undercarbed. Just make sure everything is high carb, low fat, and preferably low sodium (and of course VEGAN!) Good luck to you!!!

  • First off, things take time, so don't expect the fat on your tummy to disappear overnight. Secondly, this is a healing lifestyle, it's not a diet. Don't expect it to work as you want it to when you're not following the guidelines. If you have a past of eating disorders then your body is going to hold onto fat a little longer until it trusts you again. And you aren't speeding up the process by restricting your calories.

    What i would do is:
Start eating unlimited fruit during the day
Try to eat your cooked food about 4 pm, even tho 5.30 isnt bad, me myself often eat at that time as well.
    Drink enough water
    Get early night

    Good luck!

    • thank you! I will definitely work on getting more fruit in and i think it will really help me a lot:)
