DRINK YOUR WATER


As most of us know, it is important to make sure you drink enough water every day. We have heard this over and over again. Being properly hydrated improves your health, naturally flushes toxins and keeps our skin plump and moisturized. 

The recommended daily intake is about 8 glasses a day. The minimum requirement will vary per person due to your activity level and diet.  There are some that feel  you should gulp down gallons per day. I tried this and drinking that much water made me feel bloated and uncomfortable. I personally think you should drink as much as you feel comfortable with throughout the day and not force it. I started listened to my body and now understand what I need on a daily basis. Keep in mind, If you are eating a raw diet, the majority of your food has a high water content, so you may not require as much as someone who is not eating a plant- based diet.

Sometimes you get a little sick of water and want something with some flavor, right? Water is my drink of choice. Although there are times I crave something with flavor and even a little fizzy. I have found that infused waters give me that sweet flavor I need and adding fruit to sparkling water satisfies that need for a fizzy drink in a healthy way. Infused water is beneficial because it makes the act of drinking water more enjoyable. Fruit Infused water gives you the taste of fruit juice without the extra calories and sugar. Homemade Fruit Infused water is best! 

INFUSING SUPPLIES


Now they make it super easy for you to customize your own flavored waters. You can make it by the glass, pitcher or travel bottle.  Mason jars are my personal favorite for any beverage.  They keep your drink nice and cold and I honestly I  have an addiction to collecting jars!  You can use a muddler to break up the fruit or just use a wooden spoon. The infuser water pitcher is really a neat item. It allows the fruit to flavor the water, but keeps it separate while drinking. This is nice because it allows you to refill the pitcher without having to change out the fruit. I also have a travel water infuser that is great while out and about. Why purchase the bottled "fruity vitamin waters" that contain additives and preservatives, when you can make your own homemade fruit infused water. It is easier on your wallet and of course healthier for you!

Citrus Water- lemons, limes- there are numerous health benefits to drinking water with lemons/limes. Citrus helps reduce bloat, balance ph and aids in digestion

Pineapple/Orange- Aids digestion, Vitamin C boost and controls hunger

Strawberry/Lime- Anti-Inflammatory properties, anti-oxidants and supports the immune system. 

Remember to mix it up a bit and use sparkling water to satisfy your carbonated beverage craving. It really helps!
