How addictive do you think cooked food is?

I have been doing 811, but if I fell off would it be easy for me to get addicted to cooked food? If yes why is cooked food so addictive? Why is it some people are able to moderate their cooked food intake (ie. 3 meals a day) and some people aren't? I know that I have a history of binge eating but is that just me? Also this may be a silly question but some people look really really healthy on cooked food- do you believe it is possible to be?

    • 'eating cooked food is taking a risk' - this is a really good way of looking at it if you have had problems in the past with cooked food.
  • yeah true- I think its the taste, cooked celery in a soup with potatoes, leeks whatever its very tasty whereas a stick of celery is a big shift for some people. I think thats what makes cooked food quite addictive- combinations maybe?
    • Good question! For me cooked food is very addictive, but only certain "comfort" foods like grains, whole or refined. I know that my addictive behaviors around food do come from an emotional place, but even when I'm completely calm and stress free, if I start to eat pasta lets say, I find myself not able to stop. My husband on the other hand doesn't have that problem at all. He might overeat occasionally but then quickly forgets about it. Not sure why that is.
