Just a quick question.

I'm really trying to 100% the new me.  I've been logging everything in Chron-O-Meter, and eating as low fat as possible and my ratios have ended up being right on with 80-10-10 as well as staying raw till 4.  My question is at the end of the day what is considered low fat?  The most grams I've hit since I've started logging is 29g one day.  Normally 20-29.  Should I cut more?

Thanks so much for any information or advice!!

    • That's great to hear Justin my advice to you would be stick to what you are doing and tweak it each week dont do anything drastick drink plenty of water, up your excercise weekly get to bed early, get on here daily and read/absorb chat and grow, but shrink! dont expect too much, but be very surprised by what you have achieved! your whole life is ahead of you, don't look back! unless there is a big lion chasing you!!

      • Haha :D Big lion... :)

  • First off, congrats on giving your best to your new lifestyle, Justin.  Expect good things!

I see you're easily hitting our recommended minimum of 3K for gents, but an even better general calculation is to consume 10 grams of carbs per kilo of bodyweight.

an average of 25g fat is only 225 cals, which is well under 10% of 3K.

So I think you're doing well, especially considering this is all a fresh experience.  Some folks do best at 10% or so, while others do fine excluding most or all overt fats for longer periods of time, which will average to about 5% fats (and a 90-5-5 macronutrient profile) just from pure fresh fruits and veg alone.

With some cooked whole food inclusions, the protein will likely be slightly higher, but still acceptable.

You're welcome to experiment over time, but there's no need to micromanage yourself at this point.

Just focus on continuing to perfect our lifestyle recommendations, as you already are.

  • It depends on how many calories you are eating per day...but that does seem a little high...maybe shoot more for 85-5-5?? Interested to here others input :)

    • I've been hitting anywhere between 3k-4k calories daily.  750g of carbs.  Just as an average.

      • Seems like your doing great :D Proud of you for being vegan. Windlord has excellent advice for you below...of course :D Good luck with everything and let us know how you are travelling!
