  • so much messing with nature

  • I think this is great! Ideally, of course, we would all be vegan but in the mean time this would be a MUCH better option! So many animals saved :D

  • this is not good - our bodies need and recognise natural raw botanical cells.

the old saying - you are what you eat - if you eat GM cells which is what this is, you will die from an auto immune disease where the your body  WILL attack itself - this is not the way to go - just like giving up smoking, one must go COLD TOFURKEY to be successful.

    • You're missing the whole point here vw..

    • Nice Steve!

  • Easy to say that.. but the sad reality is that the masses want 'their meat' and it's better to feed them lab grown meat than killing a 100 billion animals each year.

    • Not to mention chopping down the rain forest to feed the poor animals.

    • Yes I can see it as a benefit in that sense. But the amount of resources wasted to build labs and also the pollution it creates from making the building supplies and the chemicals needed to grow the cells and the polution it creates to run all the labs. Not to mention the countless labs you would need to build to be able to produce the amount of animal products to supply enough product to fill the demand which requires 100 billion animals, not to mention the increased demand that may occur because people who are vegan for ethical reasons alone may now become meat eaters now damaging their health. So while not directly killing animals by further destruction of the planet and wasting of resources and contributing to the poor health of humans, it will indirectly kill animals including humans. Not to mention increasing health costs which brings it's own issues. Seems like a good idea on the surface but it is attacking the problem from the wrong direction.
      • Humans 'waste' resources and impact the environment with most everything they do.. houses, cars, computers, etc.. most of them aren't going back to live in the forest, naked, no tools, no impact, eating fruits and leaves off the trees.

        We have to accept reality.

Of course we should make better choices and inspire/educate others to do the same.

Growing and using fake meat and leather is better choice then killing animals, so I support it.

It can be a bridge to veganism. Don't burn it up.

Those people would most likely never go from meat to vegan, but they might go fake meat> toffu > vegan/raw..

The fake meat is going to be cheaper, healthier, less polluting, use less resources, more ethical, etc.. all benefits.. it's a nobrainer.. of course it'd be much better if they'd go vegan instantly, but it's not going to happen.
