Newbie needs help!

Heya!

So as stated in the title I'm new to the 'raw food veganism'.

Now my fridge is still stocked up with loads of soy-yogurt and quorn chicken I'm afraid.

I know the soy-yogurt is vegan, but wouldn't it be 'cheating' as its not raw?

And would it totally mess up all of my diet?

Also, I was wondering about calorie restrictions.

Obviously a HQRV may eat quite a bit (as long as it's the right stuff of course!) but I did hear freelee say that she restricts to 3000 calories/ day.

Being a 17 year old, 1,65 meter high girl, how much do you think my calorie intake should be?

Surely it would be higher than the pittiful 1,200 calories recommended in various calorie calculators I have tried?!?!?

I am very thankful for any advise!

  • Soy yogurt isn't raw so if your goal is 100% HCRV then yes it would be cheating. I don't think it would totally mess up your diet but it is definitely not optimal.

Freelee doesn't restrict her calories and neither should you! I think I've heard her say in her videos before that she usually tends to eat around 3,000 calories but if she wants more she'll eat more :)

1,200 is VERY pitiful :( don't do it! I'm an 18 yr old girl and I eat at least 2,500 calories every day (as recommended here on 30BAD) The bottom line is to make sure you're eating enough and to never worry about eating too much as long as it's high carb, vegan, and preferably raw. Good luck to you :)

    • Thanks very much!!!

Just went to the grocery store and bought loads of mangos, bananas, dates and other fruit so I'm kitted out! ;)
