  • My staple is finely chopped dates soaked in lemon juice. I've used it to dress cold rice, too.

  • There's some on Teri's blog:

  • Great call - I need help here!

Can't remember where I heard of this one (possibly here?):

Celery and Raspberry.  first time i used too much raspberry and it was sweet (made a great pudding though!). Play with the proportions (I like about 1:1 weight) but also add nuts if you want an oilier texture? the colour is wonderful on a salad too.

  • For a very cool "salty" dressing, you can put some dried tomatoes, dates, carrots, some celery (depending on the "saltiness" you desire), some basil and if you want a little bit of hot pepper. Add some coconut milk and water. You can also add a little spoon of tamarind.

Blend it all together and then filter (if you don't have any juicer).

    Hope this helps :)

  • Thanks good to know!
  • I love nut dressings; just combine almonds or cashews, cilantro or parsley, the juice of an orange or lemon, water, to make a nice dressing. Blend it up in a high speed blender. Also if want it more creamy add some avocado. Hope this helps.
    • This doesn't sound very low fat though?

    • Ooh, that sounds so delicious.  I'm going to try this dressing tomorrow.

  • Mmmmm Haitian mangoes.... I lived in Haiti when I was too young the appreciate all the mango trees that grew in our yard. :((
