Scared of Fruit!! And being offensive to death eaters.. lol

I've been eating mostly raw foods for a month or so.. at first I felt like I was on X, and lost tons of weight. Ok, so my fat old conservative relatives have been here visiting, and from biting my tongue on my views, and being shamed, I've ended up feeding my face w/ some homemade but v dead food. Three days ago I quit smoking (eleven yrs of non-filters), and I am interested in the kind of health and vital nature that you all have!! Yay, so share some fitness and fruit info w/ me; tell me what keeps ya goin when youre w people you love who are fat and not wanting to hear anything new.. mostly how you keep yourself raw when ya get emotional..

  • Thank you for the awesome input, everyone!!! I appreciate it tons, and you are def helpin me. I like this forum and I like the 811. I've been doin all fruit and greens until the night, then still havin some relapses on what my relatives be eatin. But, I am on day 5 no smokin, and I am feeling good (but intense) and getting at least two walks a day, feeling some semi-wild desert vibes to help me through!
    I know that what I project connects; people give me back what I'm feeling. I've got some real sick and overweight relatives, and I just want to scream "it's not the getting old that's doin ya in, it's the lifestyle you've bought into!". But I don't feel right giving advice just yet, up until 6mos ago I was a heroin addict! Yipes.. anyway, I digress all over the place but I just wanna say thanks for the good love and care while I'm feeling around w the 811. I actually feel good eating massive quantities of fruit!! I am an apple shaped type O (lol DR) and I didn't know whether it would send me to a sugar coma but I feel pretty excellent! Guess it's the ape in me :) lol !!!

    sometimes other people feel some how uncomfortable when they are with someone who doesn't eat the way they do.
    Remember it is their insecurities, nothing to do with you.
    I find that if I am really confident and strong about my diet, this is often mirrored back at me. The more I have faith in our diet, the more I find that others are interested or excepting.

    One aspect of refining your diet can be that as we physically detox, we also emotionally detox and so our emotions as well as our bodies can become 'raw'. This is often challenging.
    I would suggest that you eat enough fruit and veg for your needs; which are often higher, when you first start out.
    Have all your favourite fruits around you, so they are right there when you might have a fancy for something that you really do not want to eat.

    Congrats on making the decision to quit smoking, you may find that you detox a bit, as the toxins finally are free to come out. Sufficient fruit and greens will help with this process.

    If you do eat some cooked vegan no big deal and if they keep harrassing you tell them "to shove their pogo sticks up there #$%"
