Stomach Banding

A question to the knowledgeable people on this forum, a friend of mine took a drastic step of surgery to try and combat a weight problem that threatened his life. He still struggles with weight issues even though he is an active man and does exercise ( weights and walking ).He is a big man at 6'2 150kWith the amount ( volume ) that is required to keep up a calorie intake, can a person who has had a stomach banding procedure, can they embark on a raw food diet.

  • The only good thing about this procedure is that it is reversable..however,when the stomach is made that small,it is difficult to eat 811rv. The reason is because the stomach was designed to stretch and hold a lot of bulk, fiber, and water that accompanies the nutrients we need. The smaller stomach wouldn't allow the amount of natural food we need to nourish us....people that get procedures like that generally have to eat small high protein portions and need to take supplements to make up for the lack of real food we are biologically adapted to.
    • Thanks C.Dove

The sad thing about it all, is the foods that he eats still give him a problem.

I do not think the he is ready to reverse the banding ( which I did not know you could do) as I think there is a physiological component to it as well.
