Hi Fruitbats,

I read an article today in Switzerland's most popular Newspaper where they say that satuated fats are healthy and choloesterol in animal products are not so bad and they suggest to stay away from Carbs because they turn into fat. There are so many comments from readers and the worst is that they start to believe that and they didnt post my comment which is not fair.

This shocks me because I start to believe that the industry is trying to make ppl sick to get more money of them.

I would love to hear how great you guys feel on low fat high carb  today and for years just like me to help me make my day :-)

Here the article

  •    I can't read the article its in a different language than English. The least unhealthy saturated fat is medium chain triglycerides. First, just because coconut oil and palm kernel oil have medium chain trigycerides doesn't mean animal products have MCTs. In fact many animal products have LCTs.

Even if you only used animal products with MCTs I question a high fat diet. In another post, I've typed about how fat gets inside the cells according to Neal Barnard. If you look at a chicken drumstick for example its 50%  at the supermarket and 49% fat, according to nutrition facts. Intramyocellular lipids accumulate inside muscle cells.

  • Follow the money. Switzerland is home to many of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies such as Roche and Novartis and many others. Its a major part of their economy along with banking. The sicker people are the more money they make.

  • Cross country started this week and I didn't train with the team at all from winter until now. There was this one guy who was feeling so proud of himself because he is on a low carb, high fat diet. He "apparently" got sooo much faster in the 9 months that I was gone, and we had a time trial today. High carb Sqwilliam vegan power beat him by 40 seconds in a 3k time trial. I crossed the line in 9:37. We were chatting about diet after and he was like wow "I got smoked. I just need to eat some more coconut oil and I'll be right up there with you." He was ahead of me last year by nearly 20 seconds. I told him to ctfu and go vegan and maybe he will gain some vegan power as well.
    • Ha. Great story. Just wait until he starts taking fish oil! Watch out!

  • Whoa. Reading a popular newspaper? Those bullshit-laden bundles of paper are only useful in starting fires and lining bird cages.

  • That's pretty crazy, but not unbelievable. Meat is heavily intertwined with the general consciousness of our culture and has been for centuries.
