Terrible Gum Pain and Swelling

IF I had a wisdom tooth in my upper row of teeth, the gum that is left there is what is crazy swollen and quite painful. There is NO tooth under this gum and there hasn't been one there in over fifteen years. The tooth that is closest to it does not hurt, none of my teeth hurt, just this gum. I don't know if I flossed between the last tooth back there and the gum area in question, but it is swollen like it is about to pop and hurts like a bad bruise. I have been hcrv for about six months, not terribly active, I work and work out but not a hard workout, calisthenics, mostly, averaging about 2200 calories a day, almost always under 10% fat, according to cronometer, I am falling short of protein, averaging about 4-5% of total calories. I drink tons of water, am not eating organic, sleep a lot, and get a lot of sunshine. This has been going on since Friday night and isn't getting better or worse. Help! Any advice would be appreciated as I have never really had many teeth pain issues. Thanks!

  • Get some medical help. Get an x-ray. There might be a tooth or something lodged in there.

    • Dang! That's what I thought- I was advised to wait a day, but it hurts down my throat and in my ear! Thanks, DR!
