  • many Fig trees around Portland Oregon...Southeast.... September....most of the figs are rotton on the sidewalks as people walk bye eating chips and COKE.
    • Oh its sad isn't it Darrick? The strangest thing to me is when I receive disapproving looks from passers by as i am picking a tree (that's hanging over a persons fence) & dropping fruit all over the sidewalk....it seems like some would prefer to see the fruit rot :(
  • Yes that would be great! Yes we can meet there....we'll have to check a time with Neetness
  • Awesome give us a call tonight if you have a chance? DOn't ask me about your phone number...Can you tattoo it on my forehead when we catch up?
Went fig-picking last night - got about 45kg
  • yes lets do that Neetness! A female foraging fiasco
  • thank you Catwoman :-)) Yes isn't it amazing?! Im going to plant the Seed tomorrow! it was lush but im back of the overt fat wagon for now
  • Yes I do consider Durians an overt fat
-Yes I feel better doing a period of no overt fats (without Durian) although if i am exercising vigorously daily then I feel great with durians as well.
Speaking of overt fats....whoops! I decided to have a beautiful 'Seedling' avocado that Clint picked of his farm in Nth Qld (soon-to-be raw retreat), he brought it back......OMG it was amazing! Like creamy sweet butter....check out this baby!!

  • So, inspired by Free's radiant loveliness and all the fig love on this thread, I bought 4 today, even though they never usually taste as good as I imagine. Of the 4, 1 was completely delicious, 1 kind of bland and 2 dry and inedible. They were all soft and dark purple on the outside. What's the secret to finding the good ones?

(Sorry to hijack your foraging thread, O Radiant Goddess Free ;-)
    • I love eating the skin but because i eat such quantity my mouth starts to sting (yes probably a sign to stop eating!) so I just eat the insides mainly.
