what is the most fruit youve eaten in a day?

ive done just over 60 large ripe bananas in a day.ive done over 85lbs of watermelon in a day.ive done over 60lbs of durian in a day.these amounts SHOCK most people. actually the most paranoid people about fruit are people into raw! lol! cos we have brian clement, gabriel cousins, david wolfe, matt monarch, fred bisci, paul nison etc saying raw is great but fruit is bad, buy my supplement! so crew just live on flax crackers, tahini and cacao, agave oil buttons and thinks thats the raw gig...but really they just got served a raw deal...i like to remind people that they need to understand how many calories are in the food they consume and used to consume. it gives us some new references and explains a lot about our energy and fuel levels.i often used to consume over 10 000cals as a cooked fooder. i wouldnt be able to do that now. i wouldnt need to either cos my body runs more effectively. i absorb more nutrients and am eating better quality ones. so even though i eat massive amounts of fruit, its still well under the calories i used to pack away..its not too much fruitits not too little fruit..its ENOUGH FRUIT.work out your caloric needs and output and now you have how much fruit you need..

  • i'm pretty sure robby was just multiplying weight of the fruit x calories per gram (caloric density).. calories per gram of the macronutrients are already factored into the caloric density
  • Nowadays I eat 3500-4500 cals a day, but I want to increase it :)
When I eat only bananas the most was 36. But its VERY important to eat ripe fruits all the time! cos when its unripe its starchy and hard to digest and dont leave the stomach fast enough etc...
So if you want to eat a lot, then eat only ripe fruits!
    peace!
    • that's a good amount of calories, at least on the high end.. why you trying to increase it? you train hard? trying to gain weight?
  • How do you afford to eat that much food??
  • the most calories in fruit that I've had in one day is 3500. I haven't been able to do more than that yet. I'm sure I will be able to do more this summer when I start doing my long distance biking.

  • Just for fun.

    Here are the numbers.

    Bananas

According to Nutridiary a large banana has 136 grams of edible fruit.

    136 x 60 = 8,160g of edible banana

    8,160 x .89 = 7,262 calories

    Watermelon

    85 pounds = 38,590g

    38,590 x .52 = 20,067 grams of edible watermelon

    20,067 x .30 = 6,020 calories

    Durian

    60 pounds = 27,240g

    27,240 x .32 = 8,717grams of edible durian

    8,717 x 1.47 = 12,814 calories

I got the edible percentages from the USDA nutrient database. I will be making videos about running numbers like this in the near future. I will also be talking about the flaws in the USDA nutrient database, but the information is still extremely useful. Obviously, my actions show that I find it useful.

  • well for starters im yet to meet the longterm 100% raw vegan that doesnt have caloric awareness. what do i mean by this? well lots of crew say that they suscribe to the calorie theory and these people are always eating cooked food and or animal products.

there is a lot of speakers on the raw circuit that talk about raw. but never claim to be 100% raw vegan. you can read their books and its all 'raw food diet, ive been a raw foodist for 15 years, i enjoy a diet of raw foods etc etc. but you dont hear from them 'IM 100% RAW VEGAN, COUNT ON IT!'

so i find its bordering unethical to talk about a subject but never openly tell people that you actually eat cooked food when your audience assumes you do follow 100% raw vegan diet. and i dont say that meaning cooked fooders are bad people, not at all, but if your preaching religion and your actually an atheist at home, then perhaps your in the wrong business..

getting back to glycogen stores and cultivating energy/fuel:
well i get energy from sleeping and resting. and i get fuel from eating food. when i want to store body fat for a cycling trip, i eat more avocado. when i want to store glycogen for tommorrows fuel needs, i eat more sweet fruits. ie eat fat to store fat and eat carbs to go hard.

on saturday i did 4hill repeats with 2 of the best road cyclists in the country. it was intense and by the time i got home i had burned around 2600cals. add that to my basal metabolic rate of around 2500cals and we are over 5000cals. but saturday i only ate around 2000cals. so i my body used up some fat stores to make up the caloric deficit. yesterday i went out for an easy spin and my legs felt empty. i could feel that my glycogen stores were deficient from not eating enough after saturdays training. and only after a 20 banana lunch did my legs come good again.

is it any wonder that the greatest endurance athletes in the world eat the most calories from carbohydrates?

my uncle is a maths guru. totally proficient in geek speek on more subjects than anyone i know. yet he doesnt even know how many calories in a banana.. :)
how can this happen? that people dont even know how much fuel their body needs yet they drive around past petrol stations doing the maths in their head of how many cents they save per litre of fuel for their cars. they know for the last 10 years how much it cost to fill a tank. some older drivers will tell you about the 50's and how many litres per gallon they got and what it cost and how long you could drive at 100mile an hour..but ask them how much fuel they put in their OWN tank and 99.99% of them have no idea.

this caloric ignorance is planned. have a society that wouldnt have a clue how to refuel themselves effecitvely and you have a weak society that is dependent on refined foods, stimulants etc. these refined foods and stimulants are addictive. keeps people working in jobs they hate to buy these refined foods and stimulants. can you imagine taking away coffee machines and chocolate biscuits from the workplace? friday night drinks? tuesday lunch pizzas? pre race pasta parties?

the whole system would collapse. people would actually have to get in contact with how much fuel they really need. and they wouldnt have these programmed conditions on how much fruit they are allowed to eat. women are told to eat small. you dont see chicks entering speed eating competitiions, despite being just as capable. and if your female and count your calories, then youve an eating disorder. and if your a male that counts your calories, your gay.

grow varieties of fruit that taste crap and grow them with chemicals that make em taste even worse. make them harder to obtain and more expensive financially than refined foods that are not only accepted but encouraged. grow ornamental plants in the community. create manicured gardens that use large amounts of water and yield zero calories. make people whom forage off trees that are dropping on the footpath appear as theives. make spotty bananas appear as rotten bananas.

anyone know of a school in the world that does banana smoothies from ripe organic bananas? me either. anyone know of a school that doesnt serve flavoured milk? me either.

for us its 30 bananas a day..
  • I usually ration out my fruit so I never can completely gorge on whatever I want. The most I have eaten in one sitting is probably 15 or 16 bananas and a cantaloupe. But I have a pretty big stomach if I need it so I could probably stomach 3 cantaloupes in one sitting if I had the time, hunger, and cantaloupes.
  • I'm about to eat my 7th orange, that's quite a lot for me!!!!
  • How many? No idea, despite being a mathematician, I never count that part of my life! I know that I get enough by relying on my (true) hunger instead. Works no prob every time. :)
