What To Get Tested in Blood Test?

So I want to get a blood test after 6 years on this lifestyle. I ve done blood test few years ago but only simple things like iron, cholesterol, B12, triglycerides and few other things. Everything was well at that time.

My health seems to be good now, except of my teeth that have many cavities. I wonder if K2 and Zinc could be the issue. What other things would you get tested as considered important, and I could be potentially deficient in.

I see many vegans getting blood test, but only testing things like cholesterol and proteins, which are of course gonna be good, but what about other elements?

Thank you for your replies and insights.

  • So these are the results I got, Zinc seems to be a bit high, but I reckon it´s ok.

    Calcium Colorimetric 9.5 Normal mg/dl 8.4 - 10.2
    Phosphorus Colorimetric 4.0 Normal mg/dl 2.5 - 4.5
    Serum Iron 74 ug/ dL  Normal 33-193

    Zinc 1027.26 H ug/L  Normal 551- 925

    • The main one with teeth is hygiene of the mouth. I was warning a lad yesterday that he needs to start drinking more water or in a year or 5 he will be regretting it dental bill wise.

He thought he could just get enough water from coconuts lol.

Get your testosterone levels. Obviously they vary day to day, hour to hour but one test doesnt hurt.

  • So there was no testing for K2 in Thailand, only for K1, so the only thing I could do is just to supplement if I wanna make sure I am getting enough.

However I got tested for calcium, iron, phosphorus and zinc.

    • protein, uric acid, urea, the liver enzymes, hematocrit, white cells, thyroid function (t4, t3, TSH)...

      • I know people who eat meat regularly are obiously very sick, but would show normal levels of these things.

        • What do you mean 'obviously sick' ?

          • overweight, eating lots of animal products

            • you can be chubby and fine, there are plenty of overweight vegans.

If their blood tests won't show decreased health, but you believe their health being bad, why do you consider that blood tests will showcase your health? Is there not a possibility where you might be sick but the blood tests show you're fine, thus making it an invalid way to investigate good health?

              • yes that is a possibility, you can show great blood results in some elements, but could be severely deficient in some other nutrients, that is why I am asking what are important elements to get tested, that show you are in great health overall.
