Why does Juice give me stomach aches?

Hi family, this has always perplexed me and of course I've come up with my own ideas about it but I want to hear yours too.

The experience is that at first when you're drinking a lot of juice or eating high quantities of fruit, it starts to hurt. But then the pain fades and all the sudden you're hungry for that food that was hurting you.

I think it's because when you start to consume something, it requires enzymes and digestive fluids to be produced that will digest that food, but at first, it takes some time to get them flowing. Once they're flowing it feels good and you want to eat more of that food.

Here are some things that can help to make the juices flow:

  • eat healthy and clean. you'll be more ready to produce juice-digestion-related stomach fluids if you aren't full of crud
  • drink water. I like to get 2 liters before each meal but 1 liter is minimum
  • sleep until you feel like getting up. going to bed early enough to not need an alarm will take you to a new level of digestion.

What do you think? Any other ideas? What are the causes of this pain, and what are the solutions?

Here is a video I made about it

  • Juicing Side Effects

As far as other fruits go, some people are just sensitive or have allergies to certain kinds.  For me it is pineapple.  Sometimes, we just have to avoid the ones that hurt.

    Peace, PK

    • Thanks PK,

What I'm talking about it how any kind of fruit can cause this. Watermelon, dates, bananas, apples, have all caused these kind of stomach aches for me, and it's not just with juice, it's just eating enough of them fast enough. I actually don't use a juicer, i use a blender (but i call it juice).

Also, about avoiding the ones that hurt; that makes sense but then consider that if the pain comes and then goes in a couple minutes, and never comes back no matter how much you eat, then you have to wonder is it the food or is it the digestion?
