Fellow Teenagers: Do you have clear skin?

I posted this on the main page, but I decided to re-post it here because it's more relevant here.  

The idea of having a good skin is one of my favorite things about this lifestyle...I've been 100% raw for about a week and a half(not long, i know) and 80/10/10 for about 7 months.  The general public mindset is that all teenagers have acne, and there's really no way to get around it, but there's a lot of things about the general public mindset that 811-ers don't accept.  If anyone (specifically 811 teens or people who were teens on 811) could offer some insight or personal experience, that would be very appreciated.  Don't be afraid to add the details of your diet (what % raw is your diet, how long, organic, etc.) and skin (how long before it cleared up, still have a few pimples here and there, etc.)

  • I hate to say it but I use benzoyl peroxide :( I stopped using proactive in March, and I went raw till 4 then as well. Cut out almost all fats, ate high carb, blah blah blah. I still eat like this, however my face got to a point a few weeks ago where I was just sitting in my room crying all day. My face is a bit better now but still has a far far way to go from where it was at. I don't use proactive, but I did get the benzoyl peroxide from the drugstore. 

  • Well, I had clear skin last year, when I had been mostly raw for around six months. Then I ended up taking a break from raw veganism and fell back into disordered habits. Now that I am back on track my skin is getting better everyday!

  • If you go on a really cleansing diet, tons of high water fruits, veggies at nights, and no overt fats (nuts seeds avocados), your body will detox.  My skin got horrid, and then after 3 months, perfectly clear.  I can tell as my body gets cleaner inside because my eyes are changing from green to blue.  Its crazy! 

    • i would reccomend against nuts and seeds for the time being.  They are high protein, and if your getting acne, your kidneys are not filtering properly, and high protein foods are not what you want right now.  Also i would NOT drink green tea, its high in caffeine and it is not good for the adrenals.
