  • For lunch I usually bring either a bag of citrus (navel oranges and mandarins usually), a container of melon, or a bag of dates. Though I have a bad habit of skipping lunch and waiting until I get home five hours later to eat. I'm trying to get over that now, but it's hard.

  • you can make a big smoothie and distribute them into 2-3 bottles and carry them in your backpack or locker maybe :)

  • Hi I'm new to this lifestyle but I've been into eating healthy for quite some time, so I'm an experienced lunch packer. My friends have gotten used to me packing food so they don't really judge the food I bring. However they may start judging once they notice how much fruit I'm bringing starting from now on. I bought a thermos bottle yesterday so I can bring smoothies and dateorade to school and drink it even in classes! That way I can reduce the amounts I eat during recces and lunch breaks, and still get enough calories!

  • I remember I was very obnoxious and uncaring about other people. Which was great because I would carry around half a watermelon for lunch. Just walking and talking to my friends while I shovel that deliciousness with a spoon into my mouth. Besides that, I would take around 10 apples for lunch, usually.

  • I remember in 6th my friend and I chose a more "healthier" option during lunchtime which was this non-organic wrap which was mostly bread and this girl says to us "are you guys on a diet or something?" By her tone I don't think she meant it in a rude way. But its sad that kids don't value health and they see it as some joke. Like if you're trying to be healthy you're automatically doing a "diet."

  • I usually bring a 1 or 2 bananas, some oranges and some apples. Sometimes I'll buy some pears, kiwis ir grape fruit from my school. I have swim practice after school everyday but I usually have 45 minutes between when school gets out and when practice starts so my teammates and I go to starbucks. I usually buy 2 bananas and some blueberries while they get coffee.

  • OMG! So many people always comment on what i bring or how much fruit i eat during lunch at school...it get to be so annoying sometimes. I feel for ya.
  • Today I had 5 bananas... I packed 7 but I couldn't eat all of them. People have been looking strangely at me when I ate more than one banana.

Often someone walks past me while I'm eating a banana and they probably think "Oh, there's a teen eating fruit, eating healthy." (because it's rather rare. The healthiest that others at my age eat in a day is like one apple and a banana.) But I bet they're reaction would be different if they saw me eat 5 of them. :P

Usually my lunch consists of 3-5 bananas and a few apples, because those two fruits are the easiest on the go. Quite often I have a part of it already as a mid-morning snack, especially when I've got dancing class during lunch break and I have only 15-20 mins to eat. But it's getting easier with every day.

  • I plan on taking two smoothies to lunch when I start back at school. One to sip on inbetween classes (24 minutes total) and the rest for lunch (45 minutes). That's a good homemade tomato soup (read: tomatoes+onions XD) and a good banana/date type smoothie :)

    That reminds me...

I need to make those raw mashed sweet potatos.
  • Usually I bring like 7 apples right now. Bananas are also be good to bring since they are fast but things like oranges take to long to peel. My friends all thought I was crazy at first (and still do) but they just make occasional jokes and are used to it now. Good luck and stick with it don't let comments discourage or get the best of you
