School lunch

what do you guys take for school lunch, if you're in highschool

I used to take medjool dates, like 10 but I realized I cant eat that many in a row, its like eating a cupcake to me, way too sugary and it hurts my teeth.

sorry I just realized someone made a discussion about this, ill leave it up anyway

  • I make sure to eat enough for breakfast and once I get home so that I don't have to bring much along for school. I do take an apple and about 7 clementine oranges. Yes, everyone thinks I'm crazy for eating that many oranges, but who cares?! :)
  • I like to bring smoothie bowls! Nomm.. so good. :) At office depot you can find these plastic bowls to pack your lunch in. I use the "noodle" bowl for it. I usually put in 1-3 small bananas, 1/2 pint raspberries, and unsweetened almond milk. *one I made myself*  On the side I'll have a fruit salad. I don't get very many stares.

I also like to have "pasta salad" (zucchini, cucumber, pepper, spinach, onion, topped with my homemade 100% raw tomato sauce)

Sometimes I'll bring a huge salad and just nom on that :)

  • Yea it did, gave me some ideas. thanks! But I have a question, do you juice the watermelon? I blended some up and it wasn't like a juice, it had the fibre pieces in it so it wasn't smooth like a banana smoothie or a juice, do I need to blend more? And yea that's true about the mangos, I used to do cut up mangos, like 6 or so in gr 11 last year and by lunch they'd taste a bit off. I'm going in gr 12 this year so I've been really thinking about what to take when school starts! Thank you

  • I usually chop up whatever fruit I was planning on eating for lunch into a fruit salad in a tupperware...I also plan out my snacks and meals ahead of time (...I just eat meals straight from the 80/10/10 book, not very creative I know but I like routine) and most of the things I've encountered are either smoothies (in a reusable cup...the lid and straw kind, preferably not see through but that's just me) or can be turned into chopped fruit salads....I usually put my raw "soups" in an opaque cup too cuz if nobody knows I'm drinking "soup" they can't judge me. Raw living is pretty simple, in my opinion, so it doesn't get much tougher than tupperware or a cup...probably why it's been said already :p

    • Thanks that's a good idea to bring fruit salad! I agree, its pretty easy if you just put a little effort into it and plan out meals and stuff.

  • oh I never thought about making a smoothie of mangos and other fruits, I was just gonna bring like 10 mangos maybe ill try a mango smoothie  thanks!

  • Haha l tried this and it was like bad by the lunchtime :/ do you keep it in a cooler or something?
  • Smoothie or zuccnini pasta with raw tomato sauce!

  • My lunch in college is like 15 oranges.  But something more discreet would be a banana date smoothie.  I drink two quarts of banana date smoothies, about 1500 calories as dinner.
