  • how many bananas is normal to eat a day? I am 5 7 and 145 pounds...looking to lose weight !

  • Hey guys! I'm new to this and will be joining you all on BI as soon as my Bananas are ripe and spotty ;) I'm going to try and aim for 15 days and am really hoping to get rid of my salt cravings, have glowing skin, and just reset my digestive system.  Bananas are the best :) Yay!!!!

  • 21 days/3 weeks on Banana Island and counting. Strictly bananas and leafy greens. Feeling grrrrrreat! I'm sticking around for another 2 weeks until Feb 1st, and then will gradually begin adding other fruits back in.

  • Good good job Greg!  You're an inspiration!

  • I managed about 12-15 bananas yesterday, and 2 persimmons.  I was sweeted out!  So I swum over to avocado island and am visiting there, and be back on banana island by tonight.  So far though I've just had persimmons and a banana so I may be back sooner.  Years ago, after 13 months of just juice (which was amazing), I took a space, then went back to juice, this time 6 days a week with Saturdays off, for 2 1/2 years.  That was awesome!

The point of my sharing this is that if the island is hard for anyone, then that day off gives a goal and a promise of 'treats'.  (I was vegan back then too.)  That way, if something is really good for You, you can do it indefinitely.

  • I had at least 12 bananas this morning, with dates, and feel like that's enough food for the rest of the month!  Thinking or Greg eating 40 and Freelee I think 50 one time.  Bananas have to be the most filling food.  I could easily eat a whole durian or two, and 12 bananas in a short space is so filling!

Ciao (did I spell that right?)

    p.s. where is everyone?

  • Sounds great Greg!  I just had 2 bowls of papaya-banana-date stuff.  So delicious.  A Whole Foods papaya, and possibly the most delicious papaya I ever tasted.  That accounted for 4 bananas, and I'm thinking I had between 4 and 8 this morning, so not a lot.  And We don't have so many ripe ones left, and my daughter loves bananas, a lot of them.  So as we get low, I may have to shift fruit until they ripen.

For Me this fast is about not eating any fat (not because I am; far from it!)  It's more about consciousness.  That's why I was so happy this morning with some wonderful new understanding I had of a Bible passage; the illumination that usually comes for Me when fasting.

I think it's great that You're eating so many bananas!

    Love,

Sun~Rose wondering how everyone else is?

  • Katie and Everyone, Good morning!

Are You all blending the bananas?  I'm eating them, and I guess it's easier to eat a lot when blended?  I know they're especially delicious blended with durian!  Wish it were as inexpensive as bananas are.  I could definitely be one of those durian for breakfast, durian for lunch, durian for dinner, durian for snacks all day-people!

Hope You're all doing well.  I washed 2 persimmons, and haven't had them yet.  I'll probably run first.

    Sun~Rose

    • I primarily blend them, but once in a while if I have a leisurely morning or the mood strikes, I'll eat them chopped and sprinkled with a little organic coconut sugar and pinch of cinnamon.

But for the most part, it's just strictly bananas and water pulse blended to leave it a little chunky/chewy. I don't add in any other fruits as that kind of goes against the root purpose of an Island (one fruit). The only thing I do add to my supper is leafy greens (romaine or iceberg) -- either blended into the smoothie or eaten last as-is.

    • Two persimmons and 3 bananas so far.  Not the least bit hungry which would be great if I wanted to lose weight instead of gain!  And I do feel really good.  Rested on just a little sleep which is cool.

      Love to EveryOne!
