I have really been struggling staying on this or any other eating plan for more then a few days.I have gained 20lbs since the beginning of the year and am looking to get back on track and not be ruled by food, so I feel I need a trip to banana island. I have never been there so this is exciting and a bit scary for me. I need to to do this and succeed! It isn't only about the weight but it is about losing weight and reseting my relationship with food. Also feel my hormones are off and maybe this will help. I am going to turn 52 in July and I really want to do it on a positive note.I would love a buddy for support if anyone wants to join me?Also would love to hear anyone experiences who has visited banana island.Robin

  • Alexa....i am super excited about having you as a buddy! I didn't have a great day today (kind of a free for all) and am determined to get right back on track! I would love to be buddies with you too Lee Ann. I also plan on doing raw till 4 sometimes. I too look forward to my morning banana/lettuce smoothie.

I know how you feel Alexa not having any support. Everyone thinks this is unhealthy which sometimes makes me doubt myself. I admire your strength to be different and stick to your conviction at such a young age Alexa. You are really inspiration!

Question...like lee ann i really look forward to a banana green smoothie for breakfast. I bought some watermelon and cantaloupe. Can I have melon for lunch as long it is a mono melon meal?

    How is mango island going?

How was your day lee ann?
    • Thats okay to have some slip ups in the beginning just keep it vegan obviously!! Mango island went great got another box on Saturday! and more durian yumm i am addicted! To the watermelon i would advise against it for lunch! thats not really good food combining! melon should be eaten alone in the morning as a first meal! it digests much faster than other fruits and will catch up to things like bananas or any other fruit for that matter. thank you for the admiration its just all about what you know is right and not letting other opinions bring you down! we cant convince everyone to do what is healthy but just know that we got it right and run with that! I am very excited to have the support of you and leann now!

    • Hi Robyn!
Yup melons together (but only melons) are fine! And delicious!!!!
My day was great, I really enjoy eating fruit all day, I feel a real freedom also not having to 'decide' what to eat, or cook.
It's just that evening meal that requires some thought because I have two little boys I have to feed.

I plan on being back on banana island on Monday and hoping to at least do 2 or 3 full days.
I am waiting until then as I have a very social weekend, but I've also become very crafty at just eating fruit all day, most people are aware of it, but not aware that's all I'm eating.

You should see my lunch box at work, it's huge, and just full of fruit, but no one realises.
It's hilarious. I can't be bothered talking to people about it because they have so many stupid ideas about food, it just wears me out. And I've had such a long history of food abuse, I'm not really one to talk, especially being a newbie.
Maybe in a few years when I've got a smokin hot bod they'll believe me!!!!
    • Yay we are friends now! Yes my banana smoothies are my favorite part of my day lol! Gets me soo energetic! My lunch box is crazy big too! usually 2-3 bags! ppl think im nuts.

  • Btw still have bananas left so it was bananas and blueberries green (spinach) smoothie for breakfast along with a couple for bananas for breakfast. Just really trying to stick with 80/10/10rv now. We could be buddies doing that if either of you are up for it?
    Robin
    • Of course I actually have no one I do this with. It has been 2 years and somehow I have been doing it completely along while my friends make fun of me!

    • alexa I tried to add you as a friend, but I don't know how!

I'm 80/10/10 I have cooked dinners sometimes though, not every night though.

I have been doing 'raw to 4' for a few months now and would never go back!

every morning I have my 10 banana smoothie, either just by itself or with spinach and dates and celery. I love it. I actually look forward to it!!!

  • Well I woke up this morning and bananas still sounded good so I am going to continue at least until dinner. How are you doing Lee Ann? How about you, Alexa?
    • I actually am doing a couple days of all mangoes and bananas!! So not sure what that is ha! but Im loving them both right now and have lots of good ripe ones of both. I also have a mammey that is getting too ripe so i might have that for dinner or blend for later, not sure! I just know I am loving mono eating right now ha nothing complex.
