HELP!!

I am very new to the HCLF vegan lifestyle. A few weeks ago I decided to transition completely from a diet that included meat and dairy to a vegan lifestyle. My mom (whom I live with) isn't all that happy with it but lets me eat as wish since I am 18. I was doing very well with the lifestyle and adjustments until a few days ago. I completely fell off the wagon and I am realizing how bad I feel when I go back to eating all of this junk I was accustomed to. I am immensely afraid that I will gain weight just starting out on this lifestyle as I am trying to lose weight and become healthier in general. Does anyone have any tips as to how I can avoid falling back into my old habits and how I can combat those old cravings? Also can anyone tell me about their weight loss/gain during their adjustment period? I am also struggling to get an adequate amount of calories in without feeling as if I am going to explode. Is this normal at first? Thanks for any help in advance! I already love this community so much!

  • Always start your morning with a liter of water,

Then I would recommend eating a mono meal of bananas at least 3-4 ( make sure they are RIPE . aka SPOTTY!) , wait a bit, and then eat 3 more...that is the best way I have found to not feel sick eating too much at once at first.

    another liter of water.

Have more bananas for lunch. and maybe a few dates :D

    another liter of water.

for dinner have boiled potatoes, plantains: root veggies.

If you want, then go ahead with the rice ( I personally don't find this makes me feel AS great).

Make sure to include lots of mixed leafy greens at dinner I found helps.

One of the most important thing to eliminate is ALL OILS. ALL SALTS. ALL PROCESSED REFINED FOODS. Don't be too hard on yourself. I know it took a lot of trial and error, and I am still adjusting, but feel way better then last year trying this.

ALSO I don't know how your current fitness is, but its super important to pump your body for AT LEAST 30 minutes a day to build up a sweat...humans are NOT meant to just sit all day and expect to feel amazing...on ANY lifestyle.

Get enough sleep. Don't stress about the small things. We are all human and make mistakes. the most important thing is your WILLINGNESS to keep moving forward and always trying to improve yourself.

Listen to your body most importantly how you feel and keep a journal to track that.

xx I have faith in you girl! This is an awesome lifestyle , especially once you get the hang out of it, you see how simple and awesome it is

  • Thank you both for your responses and the youtube recommendations!  The encouragement really helps a lot!

  • First of all, congratulations on finding this lifestyle!!!! Don't give up on it!!! First of all you have to go vegan and understand that eating animals is disgusting. Next time you want a steak think of the reality of it, it is a dead cow. As for losing weight on this lifestyle there is a few very important details to consider: the more RAW, WHOLE, FRESH foods you eat the faster you will lose weight. If raw is too extreme at first then go raw till 4 and for your cooked meals I wouldn't recommend vegan pasta and vegan cookies or pizza etc. Try to eat whole foods like potatoes and sweet potatoes, squash, brown rice, and TONS of vegetables!! My point is, if you completely go nuts with processed foods u could gain weight. The more WHOLE foods you eat and the more RAW fruits and vegetables you eat the better!! I recommend looking up "Tannyraw" on youtube and "TinyFruitLover"! The fastest way to get results on this life style is an 80/10/10 low fat raw vegan approach with HIGH NUTRIENT foods! The problem with white potatoes and white rice and spaghetti and pizza even if they are vegan is that they are low nutrient foods, and low in water. Cooked foods have very little water, and not as much vitamins and minerals as raw fruit and vegetables, and cooked starches can quite frankly be addictive!!!!!! A whole pot of white rice and tomato sauce was VEERRYYYY addictive to me!!! It took me OVER a year of trying to be raw to finally get here, so make your first priority to be VEGAN!! No animal products at all!!!! Once that becomes super easy to you, probably in a year, then eat more raw fruits and vegetables until you can be fully raw if you would like to take that step, because it would greatly increase your health and weight loss!! Have a good day!! :D

  • Keep your house full of bananas, dates, rice, corn, beans, tomatoes, and pasta and carb up hardcore all day. Smoothies make getting calories 100x easier as well. Get 40lbs+ bananas every week and walk or bike every day for 30+ mins. You won't gain weight. Make sure to always wash your rice, too.
