I keep a very clean apartment, but always seem to struggle with fruit flies. I almost always have a 40lb box of bananas ripening. My roommates are not thrilled with the fruit flies, and I cannot blame them. Do you all have any "old wives tale" remedies for how to avoid fruit flies? Currently: I've started storing my banana box in a large sealed plastic bin, and I compost the fruit peels so they are not a source of the fruit flies, I keep all sugar or food products in sealed storage tupperwares in the cabinets. Any ideas??
