  • My experience is that the fruits are a lot better on the caribbean. I could never find the superfruits to buy such as Durian, Jackfruit, Cempedak, Marang on the Pacific or the high plains.

E.g. compare the quality of caimitos (purple starapple). They taste a lot better when they originate from the caribbean because the long dryness of the Pacific site isn't suitable for many kinds of fruit trees.

Have you been to beaches in Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo? They are quite perfect. Even the caribbean is warmer to swim in.

But I think if you're looking for a kind of "beach holiday" the pacific is the better choice cause it's sunnier there.

    A hint:

An old country saying means if the weather is bad on the caibbean it is nice on the pacific and vice versa. It's true!

  • Both sites have advantages.

If you like a whole year round sunny weather the Pacific site should be your choise.

    I thought this way, too.

But we are planning to buy a property in Costa Rica. That's why we prefer now the caribbean cost (atlantic). It's a lot easier to find good fruits on the caribbean site, in the south at least.
