Lots of questions about Dates

Are there anyone here who has dates as a big part of there staple food and has had that for a long time? I find that i dont tolerate bananas well and need some other source, given that im from Sweden that has to be dates. Unfortunately all the dates are dried, so my question is if it is possible to eat like 600g+ of dates a day as a big part of your diet or if so much dried food will be to hard on the body?

Also what are the best places to order bulk organic dates that ships to sweden?

  • Hej Henrik! In what part of Sweden do you live? Being from Stockholm I do buy fresh dates in the suburbs where demand is high and they are sometimes really inexpensive. Not organic, though. That link was interesting, but are those organic? Allt gott!

    I would never suggest dried foods as staple since they are devoid of water - just like cooked foods, and food should be our primary source of water or otherwise we are dehydrated. Plus, dried foods are the worst enemy to the teeth.

    I am such a fan of dates - I eat 600 g as a lunch, but I do not have them that often, so I eat them maybe 15 times a year... So, not the main part of my diet. 

    Great combination is dates & cucumbers.
