Melons give alot of fruit and several per plant. We are growing all sorts again this year since last year we had more than we could eat! We are eating more from our garden. We are in Illinois, but I'd think that they would do wonderfully in VA and there isn't a long wait, for instance, like fruit trees: peaches, plums, etc. which give a LARGE crop as well!
