2nd round HCCV 30 day challenge:)

Hey everyone, So I'm sure many people have heard of or read about the challenges done here on 30 BaD:) I'm doing a second round and anyone is able to join me. I'm experimenting for 30 days more to see if this diet affects me as well as I'm hoping for, but everyone can join for their own curiosities, projected measures, nutrition improvement, or just for fun. Here are the guidelines:

  • No salt. (Naturally occuring sodium is fine, just not salt. There is a difference, one is toxic because it is chemically created, Sodium is naturally occuring; I KNOW, I WAS SO STUNNED BY THIS FACT WHEN I FOUND OUT)
  • 2 fresh fruit meals, 1 cooked meal. Remember, fruit is still our optimal foood source.
  • Lots of water
  • Post calorie intake, sunlight allotment, exercise(if any), water intake, & any other notes for the day.
  • Must follow 30 BaD rules, especially being sure not to consume ANY animal products.

Anyone interested, just know I'll be starting on Friday August 10th. I hope for company in this so please let join me if even slightly interested! Thanks everyone:)

  • I've had some very successful days lately! Here's my day today (might have more potatoes in a bit... debating but that probably means I need them!):

    B: 8 bananas

    L: 12 dates & 4 celery stalks

    D: 8 bananas

    S: 2 potatoes

    Carbs: 93.6% Protein: 4.1% Fat: 2.2%

Is it okay to have protein and fat percentages this low? Is going under 5% okay? I don't know much about that so any insight would be great! :)

  • Hi all! Remember me :) I was here for a little then veered off wayy off to paleo crazyland. I am back and recomitted to 811 for 30 days on 9/5th on freelees facebook challange. I am playing around w/ what works but i do know what DOES work for me: Low fat, vegan, fruit, green juices when im not getting enough greens, huge salads w/ lots of stuff on them including some cooked starch and fat free dressing (a tad). So, I think i am just in time to catch your 3rd round of HCCV for 30 days? Glad to be here and hope everyone is doing well on this monday. :)

    • Hi:) I'm glad to hear that you're doing well! I'm figuring out what works for me too. One thing that I've learned is that when I'm 90-100% raw I lose weight fairly quickly but once I add cooked food, or especially salt the weight comes back on very quickly. I know I need to be raw but I'm still trying to get used to eating all raw and I go back to cooked food a lot...

We can definately start another challenge when you're ready. Just let me know:)

I felt terrible this morning! I ate really bad yesterday and so this morning I felt like throwing up after my workout. I even went home from work early because of it. When my bad eating habits get in the way of living a good life day to day is when I get frustrated. I'll never go back down my previous path after how I've felt these last few days. Here's to a great new start. I never should've second guessed myself when all along my best option was just sticking with what I was doing to start with:)

No salt today and less than 10% calories from fat!

    • You are awesome. I'm inspired all over again :)

    • Great going!!!!!!!!

  • Hi All

Somehow managed to go all raw again but managed to make an absolute piggy-moo of myself.  I am so embarassed I don't really want to put down what I ate-trully, I lost count of the amount of fruit I consumed but it was definitely in the double digits like 28,29.............!

Water: 3 litres, 3 cups green tea

Exercise: 40 minute jogging and 15 minutes of yoga.

Feelings:  A bit down.  I thought it may be letting go of that comfort food thing(e.g. my baked potato).  Sometimes I feel like I have given up so much and people who eat whatever they want are doin just fine.  Not that that is a bad thing, its just, oh I don't know. I'm just feeling sorry for myself.  I get like this right before an exam!

    • I agree! Don't worry about calories! Good food will always nourish your body. I ate over 3500 calories yesterday, and I am no where near fat! :)
