  • I'm in Melbourne too. Just passed some Achachas at the Woolworths on Lygon Street and couldn't resist. They are so cute! I love cute fruit!

  • Yes!... a bit lychee ish too.... interesting to try.... found them few days ago in Brusnwick!

    • LOVE lychees! Had a kg for lunch today lol :) But made the mistake of buying Longans the other day when they didnt have any lychees thinking they would be the same just different outer skin....yuk.... :s

  • i bought them a week ago in Port Douglas coles, reminded me lychee or rambutan, but similar to mangosteen too :P

  • ps I am in Melbourne and have bought them at Box Hill market and today found them in Coles Burwood.

  • These are really yum! They are about the size of a fig with flesh similar to mangosteen. You simply run your thumb around the circumference and pull the two halves apart. There are quite large pips. I enjoy them as a bit of a treat. They are about $8-9 kg though over half of that weight is skin and pip! Apparently they are grown in Qld - originate from south america.
