Howdy, I'm new & lots to lose.

Hello everybody! I am having so much fun perusing this site now that I've found it!

I'm very new to this lifestyle and really looking forward to making it work for me.

Now, I have over 100lbs to lose, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't truly hoping that this way of eating allows my body to release it.

I am wondering if anyone else has similar goals, or maybe has lost a remarkable amount of weight in this lifestyle?

Thanks, and nice to meet you all!

- Shannon

  • Hello! I'm new and have the same goal. Ideally I'd like to lose at least 120 lbs. it seems a daunting task, I'm trying to take it all in small steps. So far, in 4 weeks of 811, I've lost 9 lbs.

It's hard for me to be 100% raw, dinner time is hard, but I keep it low fat, high carb. I am feeling wonderful eating this way and the weightloss seems effortless!

  • Hi there Shannon!

While I'm trying really hard to reshape my thinking about health and weight loss, I do have about 50 or so pounds until my IBW.  When I initially went vegan, I dropped 20 lbs or so and have maintained it now for several years despite the fact that I'm very on and off with my diet, but I know I would feel so much better if I could shake the rest.  I walk about 4.5 miles per week (not a lot, I know), but I'm definitely going to try to increase my activity.  I know many people at work that run every day just to eat what they want.  I imagine what it would be like to run every day, but eat a clean, wholesome diet...how great that would feel.

Anyway, I look forward to great results for all of us!!!

  • Hey all! I am fairly new to this lifestyle as well, I have a good 100+ lbs to lose as well.. But I can say that I started late last year in October and lasted until December when I got pregnant and was unfortunately unable to continue (whole other story but I'm working on getting back to it) and I did lose a good 30 lbs during that time.. I did very little exercise although the lifestyle makes you want to be active, as it give you so much energy... I did it by sticking to monomeals... Just eating as much of one fruit as I could stomach at each meal and making a super sized salad with homemade dressings (big enough for a typical family of 4-6 on the sad diet) and ate as much of that as I could for dinner and called it a night.. Smoothies with one or two fruit was an excellent way to get max calories at meals and I just drank water between meals.. I didn't count calories really. I did track what I ate on my fitness pal just to make sure I stayed close to the 80/10/10 ratio as possible and averaged anywhere from 3000-4000 cals a day depending on my activity level... I was always sooooo full so never craved any non vegan meals.. It's super easy once you get the right mindset.. Plus each day that goes by the more you can't picture eating any other way!

    Good luck all,
I hope I've been of some help...
  • Hi sweatygirl! (although I'm sure you're not really!)

I'm also hoping to lose weight, about 20-30lbs. Ive only been on this lifestyle for a week but love it I have tons more energy although I'm still not exercising alot...bad me lol.  So far I have noticed I feel lighter I think? Probably because I'm not bloated and I'm so hydrated so it's probably water weight.

How are you doing with it so far, I'm also a teeny bit concerned about the enormous calorie uptake I've done but I trust what I can see and all the HCLFRV's look AMAZING!

  • Im in need of losing around 80lbs, so I'm nervous about weight gain or no lose. I'm also concerned about proper calorie intake.....here I go! I'm ready to start working out daily again, and do this. I'm in need of support from others wanting to lose weight. Thanks ;)
  • Thank you!! I am actually worried about the calorie thing. My daily calories end up being 800-1200 typically, because that is where I was before eating this way, and I've been dieting so long that I am really scared of eating so much.
  • Hello Everyone!

I am new to this way of eating and also want to lose weight.  I don't have 100 pounds to lose, but would love to find a buddy ( or a few) so that we can support each other and share ideas.  I am not one to go to the gym, but I enjoy being active.

    • Howdy!!

I also have about 100 pounds to lose. I have only been able to go 100% raw until recently and maybe that is why I have not yet lost weight. But I am eating lots of fruity calories and not gaining weight. Also I am not physically active.
