What are the best places in Canada for being fully raw? Where is the best/less-costly fruit available and maybe a slightly warmer (in Canadian terms) climate? Produce co-ops, preferably organic of course? and even, maybe, public transit for those living without a vehicle so as to afford more rawness? :)

( Background: I'm currently living in Sackville, NB and am a year away from graduating with my B.A. (not that I'm counting the days or anything, *ahem*). Barring any disasters, after that I'll be moving somewhere in the country with my S.O. - it kind of depends what grad school he gets into. My plan is to work for at least a couple of years before going back to school if at all, but I'm not sure where I'd like to work either ... so basically we are both very indecisive at this point. But I'm assuming it'll be in Canada, maybe out West where he's from. I'm trying to think ahead because fruit availability would be a big deciding factor for me! I am tired of such measly availability as we have in my small Eastern-Canada town. :P )

I am in Ottawa and while its nothing special, I have little trouble eating mostly organic. There is an organic farmers market open year round and one of the farmers always brings basic fruits like oranges, lemons, apples, grapefruit and sometimes plums. If you go early enough theyll have some greens that they grew and some other greens like chards and kales. They also have carrots, beets and other root vegetables. There is also a Loblaws across from where I live that has a huuuge organic selection compared to any other chain grocery store ive been to. It costs me about $20 a day to consume ~3000 calories. From what Ive read though, BC sounds like where its at to be raw.
We're getting some of that weather too - two thunderstorms last night.City living (though I rather like smaller towns) would surely make it easier to keep to this lifestyle. I hope that your move goes well, if you do end up moving!
Thanks Megan! It's nice to meet people who are dealing with the same difficulties in terms of location. I only visited Fredericton once but it seemed like such a lovely place, with its vibrant artistic community. I'd love to live in Vancouver or anywhere in BC really, it's so beautiful and I suspect/hear that it has more liberal-minded people.
