I had plans to stay with a friend in Hali for a week or so on my way from NB to NL, but for various reasons these plans appear to be falling through. Now, my options are either to stay in Sackville, NB for an  week, OR come to Halifax anyway and look for new friends! :) I know there are a few 30BaD-ers in Halifax, though I haven't connected with you in person yet. So if anybody is free, literally anytime next week or weekend, I'd be extremely down for a mini-fruitluck, visit to local markets, or meet-up for a nature walk, or something else! I don't know Halifax too well but I'd like to see more of it. Hit me up =D

Love n' peas!

  • Hi,

I've never been to Halifax. I actually recently moved to moncton from Ontario. I have the whole weekend off though, so maybe I can drive down and meet some people and check it out. If I do that can anyone spot me a couch or something to spend a night there?
  • Hey when abouts are you going to be in the area ?
    • Christina do you come to Halifax often? or are you just rock'n it in Moncton?

    • I should get into Halifax on the bus around 1 pm this Thursday :) So if anyone vegan OR raw vegan wants to hang, I should be able to make plans pretty much any time between then and the following Monday! I have nothing else set in stone except Thursday night.

Sorry that I won't have time to come to Moncton before I leave, Christina :( I hope we can meet up there when I get back in the fall!

  • Hey, I Live in the valley for the summer but it's easy to make it to Halifax for a day. I'm in Halifax for the winter season. I've been traveling for the last couple of weeks so I haven't been around. I'm not Raw but I am vegan.

    • That would be cool, Blake! Which day might be good for you to come down? Any ideas for nice spots to lounge around with fruity/vegan snacks? :)

    •      For fruity snacks Pete's is the best place for fruit. Otherwise go to Wholesale by the Armdale roundabout for bulk fruit. You can also try to ask a farmer at the Seaport Market to buy some veggies in bulk for a cheaper price it's good to know who that actual farmer is at the stall and not just who works there; just go up and start asking about the farm and you'll figure out who is the farmer and ask them to but a box of food.

For vegan food you can go to some Cafes, Humani-T cafe has the best options for a cheep vegan mean (their specials are always vegan) there is one downtown on Argyle or close to there and the nicer one is on SouthPark St. under the Trilium(the nice condo/building facing park Victoria). Coberg Coffee has some options (their vegan cookies are the best but go fast).

Garden of Eat'N on Quinpool is the only restaurant that has a lot of vegan options. I think the Wooden Monkey has a few vegan options. Finally there is Fruition which is in the Seaport Market downtown, it has a few lunch dishes and a ton of hard to find seeds and vegan food that you can but to take home. They do sell Hemp seeds which are extremely hard to find.

I wont be in the city until Sunday and I have a meeting for my work at 3. We might be able to meet for lunch but since I'm going into the city with my coworkers I wont have much time to hang out. I should be able to make it into the city anytime next week.

    • Woooaaahh =D Thanks SO much, I am taking note of these locations! (Hurrah for Google Maps.)

I'll be leaving for NL this coming Monday, but hopefully we can meet up sometime in the future. I might even live in Halifax after graduation; no clear idea at this point but perhaps.

  • Hi,

I know you said Halifax, but I live in moncton which is close to sackville. Woul love to meet someone like minded for a mini fruit fest or nature walk.

    Christina
    • Rawsome! I'd be psyched to do that. Maybe a nature walk AND fruit fest! ;)
