Should I use a toner?

So I have recently started using an oil cleansing method, which somebody VERY kindly shared with me on an earlier post I made about skin problems :) It's just almond, castor, and a little lavender oil, and my skin is so much better moisturized, I adore it. :) But I'm wondering if I need a toner to complete the "facial routine" (haha!) and does anybody have a simple natural recipe?

I've heard that green tea + apple cider vinegar is a good vegan toner but that would smell horrendous to me!! Any other ideas? Something lemony, maybe? Thank you!

  • Yes, I think you were, and I love it a LOT! Like I said, my skin is moister and improving in tone already! thanks so much! :) I've never taken Vit. E, though I notice that my Cronometer always shows my Vit.E intake as being low. Is it easy to find vegan capsules of that?

I mixed up some ACV with water in the same amount, 1:2, yesterday and so far so good. Glad to hear another good review of it! I would put a few drops of lavender in but I'm not sure if that would smell even worse as a combination. Where does one find rose water??

  • Green tea is good. I also like aloe Vera juice and floral waters like lavender, rose or tea tree for acne prone skin. If you wanted to use something raw you could use cucumber juice. I have a theory that living cells need living water!.
    • That theory makes sense. :) Especially when I can get fresh local cucumbers, I will try that one!

  • Lemon juice diluted with water, I have always one lemon sitting in my fridge, I press one drop of lemon juice and 3 drops of water to my palm, I mix it with my finger and put it on my face - the smell is great;)

    • Thanks! I felt like that might be a good toner :)

  • I use equal parts water/apple cider vinegar.  the smell doesn't linger and my skin is soooo soft.

    • Cool! Maybe I will try it after all ~ thank you!

    • sure thing.

I use it for my hair too!

also, I just removed a few skin tags with it.  I saw it on youtube and it removed them painlessly in four days.  I'm doing a mole on my bra line now (already had a dr. check it out to make sure it didn't need to be tested).

apple cider vinegar is my favorite.

    • It replaces your shampoo too? That's the next chemical-y product I want to replace.

And do you use organic apple cider vinegar? I expect that would be best.

    • it does.

I happen to use braggs organic because that's what they sell at my market.

there is tons of youtube how to videos.

      enjoy!

let me know how it works out for you.
