Strength

After eating hclf for about 6 months I have gone from 165lb to 155lb. I have experienced some benefits like getting very lean but have noticed my strength really go down. I used to be able to do around 20 pull-ups very fast and quickly. now I can do about 6 while straining.

During this time I have also felt by intuition that my testosterone has dropped along with my desire to work out in an explosive manner like crossfit.

Anyone have experience with this and how to fix it?

  • I don't have experience with it per se, but maybe I could help. How much are you eating? Do you track what you eat? Have you been working out for the past 6 months or is it something you only just got back to? What were you eating before this diet change?

    • I just posted this also in the fitness section too.

When I switched to HCLF I just lost the ambition to workout. Lost the sort of explosive powerful feeling and no longer enjoyed working out. When I try to get back to working out with HCLF is just feels like I don't recover properly and can't gain strength.

This was all with lots of sugar, sleep, sunshine and no caffeine. I had tons of brown rice, lentils, daal, water melon, about 15 bandannas a day and lots of cliff bars each day with more fruit. I would say around at least 3000 calories.

I know there are vegan bodybuilders I was just trying to figure out if anyone else has run into this and how to fix it.

I love the vegan philosophy just not the strength and drive loss.
