Nutrition for a 100 miler

Hi my fruit luvg runners. Im doing my first 100 mile running race next August. Can someone recommend what kind of fruit they carry for their race? I have been using dates on my trainjng runs and would like to try something new. Needs to be something not too heavy or bulky to carry. Thanks!!!

  • hello, i am also a ultarunner, and i am afraid that unless you can deposit some bags somewhere on the way, you will probably have to stick to dates.

I have a dehydrator and i also do dried bananas, and i mix dates with coconut and lime and almond powder and then i dehydrate again.

for the salty( less sweet ) i do some flax seed breads with carrot pulp, and pumpkin/sunflower kernels and then dehydrate.

If i can deposit a bag i put...more dates... bananas and precut papaya, cantaloup melon, or mango.

please tell me if you have any other questions.

Wow 100 miles, great. so i am not the only one... good luck with the training.
