  • I do a lot of weightlifting and am trying to gain weight on 80/10/10. The key for me (good progress so far) has been staring out every day with a banana and date smoothie. I'm shooting for 3,000 calories a day and if I can have a 1,000 calorie smoothie right when I wake up, I'm pretty set.

How've things been in the four months since you originally posted this?

    • hey man.sorry for the late reply lol i actually been learning more and now know how to make 811 work for me.vitamix helps even more.i'm even making youtube videos to help others get into raw eating.

  • Hi, this is what's working for me. :)  My training session is usually 30-50min long, but progresses from high volume/low intensity to low volume/high intensity so food changes along with it. If intensity is low I  stock up on a lot of dates beforehand. They are quickly absorbed into the bloodstream so I eat them, warm up and go straight ahed. Volume workouts are more agressive for me so sometimes I bring lemon water just to clear me up and restore some of the ions I sweat out :D. Afterwards you need something sugary (not greens), although they contain more protein, because glycose helps shuttle protein into the muscle. Best option is bananas (you can calculate your amount). If your workouts are LV/High Intensity I suggest a routine where you stock up on glycose the day before your workout. If you train on Monday make sure you eat big Sunday. Again dates and figs are my fruit of choice.

Make sure that your after-workout-dinner is protein rich and in bigger than usual quantity. And thats it. No need for supplement or anything like that. Those are just general tips ;) Hope they help
