Hi Everyone! I've been a raw fooder off and on for about 6 years. I've tried all of the raw, popular author diets and run into problems which I've been trying to solve. I like this site b/c it addresses problems in a real way instead of trying to sell me something else!! I've been 100% raw for a couple of stretches of time--11 months and then 8 months. Loved how I felt but had trouble with Candida and weight loss. It's been quite a journey for my son and myself. We're ready to try again and this time your webstie has armed me with solutions to some of the problems we've encountered. YAY! Sorry, I don't have a picture of me. I usually use a funny one from Frank Herbert's Dune. Hope that won't disqualify me. ? It does reflect my profile's personality! :) While I respect and identify with the womyn philosophy, I have choosen to call myself female. This in no way means I'm not a womyn.....lol. I just quit fighting the "word" battle. I'm now like a singer. I take the song and make it my own! I would much rather laugh than educate the world. I'll leave that up to the next people that feel it's their time to do this........ Thank so much for your direct and "real" approach! aprilz

My favourite books/movies/authors/pastimes are...

I love to read......I can't though b/c of Fibromyalgia. Looking forward to doing that again. I was able to read when I was raw before. I like Kundalini Yoga and tv shows like The West Wing and Sons of Anarchy, The Good Wife, and Once upon a Time.

The Frugivore started this site to bring together frugivores across the Globe! Let us know what high fruit assistance do you need?

Wow, great that you should ask!! The last time we were HCRV my son developed a basketball belly after eating in about the 6 or 7 month.--Painful Bloating. I've already picked up some tips from your website. Been trying to work though it and slove this problem ever since. He still has Candida issues and Fibromyalgia. I felt good, but weighed 112 lbs at 5 7". Not good. I looked like a Halloween skeleton. I still had the Candida issue despite not having a drop of oil in 4 months time. I still have a much milder verson of the Fibromyalgia than I used to have, and the Candida overgrowth has pretty much cleared up now--my nails are white. If you have a Candida protocol with tips for him that would be awesome. I need to pinpoint where he went wrong and fix it!

  • Hello, April.

Any time a poster questions whether her comment will be deleted, that's a clue that it might not be appropriate for the target audience.

You are posting on a site that does and shall continue to recommend as a central tenet a high carb, preferably fruit, intake.

Note that we do not advocate 100% fruitarianism.  Tender leafy greens are essential, comprising between 2-6% of total cals or 1-2 pounds daily.  For great health, I'd lean toward the higher end of the scale.  The body needs ample calories to function optimally.  The physical proportion of greens to their cal content makes it nigh impossible to eat enough of them to thrive.

No posts recommending the restriction of carbs, particularly fruit, will be tolerated here.  Please bear this in mind in your future communications, public and private.

  • Just yesterday when leaving Costco in Sequim, the woman who checks the carts and receipts says "I bet you two are vegans! I'm vegetarian myself!"

That sure made me feel good. After so much resistance from people who I've faced with my diet since moving out here, it's a relief to have positive connections like that.

  • I knew I couldn't have been the only one out here. Glad to connect! :)
