I have been a vegetarian (and vegan at times) since the age of 12.. so some 16 years now. On a vego diet I lost a lot of weight initially and managed to maintain an ideal weight for many years, that's until children came about..Grr! It was all down hill from there. I've since struggled with my weight and a bunch of fairly minor medical issues. Anyway, one day my friend mentioned 'some extreme chick on youtube who consumes like 50 bananas a day', so I thought I'd suss out what she was on about. I watched a heap of Freelee's videos and felt really inspired by the HCRV diet she was following. I researched a bit further and became more intrigued reading through success stories. I was somewhat apprehensive and reluctant to give it a go as I've struggled with high BGL'S and of course western medicine dictates all sugars/carbs should be limited and blah, blah.. you'll get diabetes and lose a limb, etc if you dare to indulge in the sweet goodness of fruit... or something of that effect, spruiked in a much more professional manner, clearly. ;). I guess the bottom line is I'm sick of being fat and unhealthy. I'm only in the early days of this HCRV diet but I'm hoping it becomes a new way of life for me that will reap many benefits in the future. I wholeheartedly I agree with a vegan way of life and I'm a carb addict, soa HCRV diet and I should be a perfect match. :)
