Dealing with the haters

Wow i have had a bad day on the body image side of things today. I struggle with my head a lot, it constantly tells me to restrict(i haven't done this since starting). I want to lose weight and haven't lost any since starting nearly 5months ago.

I saw a you tube video that was a lady just bagging this lifestyle out and saying it doesn't work. I couldn't watch it all but it is hard seeing something like that when I'm battling so much with my head already.

Then i went out to lunch with my brother and his friends and one of them wasn't eating carrots because of the carbs in them! I told her that carbs is pretty much all i eat and she said, "yeh well i decided that i couldn't be fat if i am going to be a palates teacher so i will not eat carbs."

I know that comment was more about her but i couldn't help thinking that she was saying that i was fat because i eat carbs. Plus all my clothes are tight and I just hate feeling this way. I just want to hid myself away from the world till the weight comes off. Feeling defeated...

  • I just went out this weekend to get new clothes that are a size larger. I have gained 8-10 pounds, and I just passed the four month mark. It is really tough to be doing all the right things and not to "see" improvements. Rest assured that as long as you are sticking to your fruit calories, water, and exercise, your body is and will continue to make huge internal improvements.

You might not be able to see anything yet, and worse, you might feel like you look like a goblin (this weekend I did!), but let your body do its thing.

I am in the same boat as you, my dear! Keep doing what you're doing!

  • Remember that you got that fat because you WEREN'T doing this diet.

You need to watch positive videos.  811 works if you can work it.

Then once you've experienced the diet working through other 811rs(and the reasoning), you'll have the confidence to tell that woman:  If you're going to be a palates teacher, you need to stop being a nutritional idiot, and carb the fuck up.  Restricting causes fat storage.  And show her my videos:

  • I come from a horrible SAD and restrictive background. Being overweight most my life, I have bounced from one diet to the next. I didn't try them all, but I have been on many. Listening to everyone laughing, "Oh, you're on Another diet." As they'd roll thier eyes and laugh more. Really hurtful.
I've been on this lifestyle for about a year now. And of course, I hear the same thing from family and friends.
I gained weight quickly the first few months. Which of course gave them more fuel to use on me. Then, no more gaining, but no loss either, until this month. (And this whole time I have been the fuel for thier taunting.). Until this month, I was/am happy with the energy increase, my skin clearing, health issues have lessened, if not disappeared. And of course, no one acknowledged the health improvements, Just the lack of mass loss.
I haven't dropped a lot, but enough to make me say, "OK. Its gonna happen."

The masses are stll ignorant, with blinders on. Let their remarks roll off. Don't take them to heart. Stay strong, and determined. Once the results start showing on the outside, hopefully they'll see that they were wrong, and start asking questions. All we can do is lead by example and hope they gleen from it.

This little bit of loss has renewed my determination to continue on with this lifestyle. Its gonna be a long and slow process, but, I know I will get there, And, you will too.
  • I know how you feeeeeeeeeeelllll ughh (>___<) try to hang in there!

  • Hey!

I'm not really a restrictor (I did it when I was younger, and a couple months ago for like... a week. So apart from that, restriction free ;3) BUT!

On this lifestyle, with an hour of exercise 3-4 days a week, in this first week I've actually lost nearly ten pounds eating MORE than I usually do, calorie wise! This is coming from someone who was veeeeery high carb low fat diet, with very few instances of animal products (basically a cooked vegan, but I ate so much processed junk that it didn't really count) and I know that fruit calories are much better for me.

Besides the weightloss so far, I have - in this one week - cured my lifelong migraines that left me BEDRIDDEN for the better part of two years. I actually look forward to my meals; a morning datorade puts me in a great mood! My skin, while already very clear and even, is looking even smoother, and is radiant (10 oranges a day = vitamin C awesomeness!). It doesn't have the "raw glow" that is often credited to beta carotene, but it is glowing nonetheless. It is becoming incredibly soft as well.
I now have energy to exercise, which gives me an appetite, which gives me energy to exercise more ^_^! Which definately speeds up weightloss!

So, even if you don't see weightloss, focus on other results! We both know that you are doing the best thing for your body, now it's all about showing the world how good it is for the mind, body, and soul! Be "radiant" and postitive in everything you do; it will only attract good things :)

    Hope I helped :D
  • Focus on what you are getting out of living this lifestyle, listen and read things that help you achieve your goals, make a vision board, do this free workbook:  http://www.30bananasaday.com/page/new-to-lfrv-workbook

When doubt creeps in don't feed it, that's the time to watch a youtube of someone who inspires you in your goals.
